Do Women Take Themselves Too Seriously?

In some cases, yes. But it's the same with the guys I'd say. Just in a different way. I was very self concious in my teen years. Society didn't do it to me though, I did. I had my own standards that I couldn't reach.

I'm pretty insecure about my general appearance to people

I mean for all intents and purposes, I'm pretty much a middle-aged man with a bulging middle and thinning hair

but I worry a lot about my looks - today I just got some eye-gel for those panda eyes I have, I usually buy expensive shampoo to keep my hair, I try to eat as little rice as possible

and I wear stubble and have a crow's nest hairstyle to keep with the "times"

so yeah I take my appearance way too seriously

possibly but it doesn't hurt to lighten up a bit sometimes and be immature. Life isn't that serious that everything has to be bogged down with "maturity" at every turn.
