(While I do believe a bias exists in prosecuting minorities and this is reflected in sentencing, I don't believe it accounts for the wide gap in per capita violent crime committed which is better explained again by environment)

This is only anecdotal but as a child I was frequently assaulted in a criminal manner by a white male. Had we been in a small urban apartment instead of a secluded suburban home the police would have probably been alerted to the commotion. I'd say we're talking about once every two weeks between when I was 5 to about 15 when it slowed down. Let's say ten years times 25 assaults. That makes for around 250 unprosecuted white crimes that I fell victim to. So I'm not so sure.

again you are going to find what you already want to believe in scripture for the most part, it didn't influence you the way your upbringing and culture did

I mean, the entire religious right in the US seems at absolute odds with the teachings of Christ by my interpretation of the text, for example

It's case by case but to argue that the words are universally irrelevant to behavior is a stretch.

This always puzzles me. People seem to find Jesus in jail. Why is he in there? What has he done and should he not by now be out on good behaviour at least?

How can you be assaulted in a criminal manner at age five? I'm genuinely curious, cos that just sounds like bullying or harassment, which all kids go through and you would certainly not report to the police. If that's not the case, I apologise but it sounds unlikely anything criminal could be continually perpetrated on a five year old, unless it was super serious, in which case surely the cops would have been notified?

He almost never hit me in the face. He even told me that's how he kept from getting arrested. I'd be in the kitchen and he'd kick me in the balls or I'd be riding shotgun and he'd suddenly crack me in the chest while driving down the freeway. The same way some people routinely kick their dog. Some people grow up with getting assraped. I'm glad I didn't but you don't hear that kid screaming locked away in suburbia like you do in the city. I've spoken with people who've told me they were raped countless times as a child. I don't know who does it more or why but the stories I've heard come from people who are white not black and I actually run across a healthy mix of all kinds in life. So again, I'll say it, I don't think we really know enough to assume that blacks are more violent based on crime statistics.

The weakest are the most vulnerable. Vulnerability exposes you to abuse. Abuse is often physical violence. I know you're a really kindhearted person and it might seem like I'm using an emotional cheap shot to make a point. I think it shows what a good person you are that the obvious was unthinkable to you.
