Really sad to hear about this one==one of the earliest musical political saturists I had the pleasure of hearing. Even on albums I heard much later than when he released them, and some of the topics were no longer current, they stlll sounded great.

RIP, Tom.

Here's a timeless one that still holds up just as well today as it did back then...

Sad to hear. She had a personal music connection. She was married at the time of her death to Bob Flick, the mainstay of the folk group The Brothers Four, which has been making music for over 60 years. Loni said in an interview a little while back that he was her first love. They met when she was in high school and Bob was in his mid-20s, so her parents put the kibosh on that. Many years later, they reconnected and got married.

For the record, the most enduring legacy of Egypt's nuclear program is that... one of Canada's best known filmmakers, born in Cairo in 1960, was named after it.

Israel's efforts proved more fruitful in the long run shall we say.

Terence Stamp (1938-2025)

The NYT obituary doesn't mention the one film of his I remember seeing, Pasolini's Teorema. Saw it a couple of years ago on the big screen and didn't get it at all. Oh so the rich family is alienated and the mysterious stranger throws this into relief? In particular, there is a scene where he stages a scene from Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich in the most Family Guy reference for the sake of reference ass way. Boring.

Jim Kimball died of cancer this morning.

He was the drummer for the highly influential band Laughing Hyenas. He left them and form the band Mule with PW Long. He also played drums of the Jesus Lizard album Blue. After than her joined Duane Denison to form the Denison/Kimball Trio (a Duo). In 2023 he started drumming in the Chicago based post punk/noise rock band Ghost Forest.

This guy was involved in so much great stuff. This one stings bad.
