Don't you even remember the Thatcher years?? You want to bring back a party that wanted to bring massive cuts to public services, amongst other things? They don't look after the poor, which isn't going to have a great effect on our society, think back to last time they were in power.

Labour have massively increased spending on health and education, brought in the minimum wage, the working families tax credit, the child tax credit, increased child benefit, the new deal, doubled the aid budget and cancelled debt, brought in the european social chapter, the human rights act, boosted workers rights, reached an historic agreement in Northern Ireland, devolution, expanded the provision of childcare, scrapped the sick piece of discrimination that was section 28, cut overall crime by 30 per cent, slashed child poverty and has the best overall economic record in decades.

Remember, it's not only Labour and Conservatives who count, every debate about politics seems to start comparing the two to one another. So many people think it'll be a wasted vote to vote anyone else, it's that way of thinking that's stopping anyone else from moving forward.

do you choose to live in the past?
Poor - They looked after my father, he payed much less tax than he does now and under tory leadership he made his living from a boy from peckham with no money to what can be now described as a well off gentleman. Since labour have taken over his profits are less and hes paying more tax for it, explain that.
Cancelled dept.....did you know according to the news...since the iraq war it has cost the tax-payer around 100 BILLION pounds? Labour labour labour
Incidentally, i can't help but feel EVERYTHING you stated is left-wing propaganda. It won't change my vote, I'll damn well vote Conservative to save this country and that's that.

No I don't choose to live in the past, but the Conservatives policies that I didn't agree with then haven't changed since, so I don't want them in my future either.

Labour cancelled debt that third world countries owed us, that's what I was referring to. And I didn't agree with the war either so you're preaching to the converted. I'm not a Labour supporter like I said before, but I am open minded enough to see the good that each party has done for this country. Unless you can bring statistics to prove that "EVERYTHING I stated is left wing propaganda" then I can't say the same about you. How can the Human Rights Act that came into force in 2000 be propaganda, bringing with it fundamental freedoms that we have since enjoyed? Child benefit, new deal, section 28, devolution...!!! You can't pass any of that off as propaganda.

i take the fact it's working as propaganda. Like the 'fact' there were WMD's in Iraq was. Whatever happens im a born and bred conservative, they've helped my family and God knows in a week from now when Tony Blair hopefully gets his sweaty, blundering arse out of 10 downing street, this country will reap, REAP the profits of Tory success.......or maybe the monster raving looneys.

You're debating my argument by questioning 'facts' that I didn't even mention in my post...

As for the fact that it's working is propaganda, i'll stick with my first example about the human rights act, and the fact that last year naomi campbell won her case at the house of lords that she should enjoy a fundamental right to privacy about the details of her drug addiction; and prisons no longer forcing prisoners to slop out as it is a breach to their basic human rights.

Regarding the end of your post, yeah sure that's what politics is about, vote for what will benefit you the most. But you can't claim the whole country will benefit - Labour and Conservatives look out for different parts of the country, so no matter who gets in power, not everyone will benefit. As far as the Conservatives are concerned Scotlands funding will be getting majorly cut so you can't say the country will all benefit if they get into power.

I not only can, but i also have.
Furthermore, we're currently studying the PCC in media studies referring to Naomi, very very corrupt thing public interest. We're not allowed to hear about certain governmental topics....but David beckham has an affair how is this public interest? I really do detest some things in the media, but....on the other hand.....at least theres some good-hearted stories.

The PCC? Press Complaints Commission I'll assume you're talking about. Well if you study any complaints board you're gonna get a distorted view of how things are working, seeing as they only deal with complaints. We're not allowed to hear certain governmental topics for our nations own security - remember it's not only us who can read our newspapers or view our channels - a country we're at war with for example could pick them up too so obviously we're not allowed to hear everything that's going on with the government; it's for our own security really.

Anyway I have nothing more to say on this matter seeing as you haven't picked up any of my policitical points - Labour and Conservatives look out for different parts of the population, so no matter who gets in power, not everyone will benefit. As far as the Conservatives are concerned Scotlands funding will be getting majorly cut so you can't say the country will all benefit if they get into power. I doubt there's much you can say either because quite franky it's true and pretty obvious as they have admitted as much.

Sorry i don't live in Scotland, therefore im voting Conservative, please deal with it. Furthermore yes i was referring to the Press Complaints Commission, it was an example but obviously you wanted to show off... Seeing as Naomi made a complaint it just jogged my memory of a lesson we had but a week or two ago. Anyway, at least i'll be doing something with my vote i can't stand people that don't vote then complain about the country. If they want changes they have the chance to make them. O well, thats their decision. Liberal Democrats are the current holders of our consituency if anyone wanted to know.
