Nice.

The Batlord 10-07-2022 07:09 PM

Is that what he wrote on his dick the last time they had sex?

The Batlord 03-03-2023 03:14 PM

She's an evil woman, Mindy.

If you enjoy texting at midnight, then go ahead and enjoy, Mindfulness, but I would recommend caution.
You say she has a child, which perhaps means she doesn't have much time to herself until the child is asleep; that's fair enough and an indication that she's a responsible mother. On the other hand, if it's about her getting drunk alone and then thinking, "Who can I talk to?", you're gonna find that pretty unsatisfying if you're not a drinker yourself.
I think I would find a pretext to have a text conversation at a different time of day, to see how friendly she is then.

Let's not mince words here now, come on. She's in "party mode" still and getting drunk, presumably, around midnight after her child goes to sleep? I'm sorry Alex, but I'm going to take "Not a responsible mother for 500".

Mindy, with all due respect, start thinking with your head that has a brain in it. Or, as Batty put it:

This woman will bring you nothing but trouble and heartache. She hits you up randomly for money, when you didn't have a close relationship to her previously in high school and you're basically just past acquaintances? And she gives you a sob story about her exes and how she has a kid now and needs money? She's trying to manipulate you brother. And you deserve better. Just because you don't want to drink and smoke with a girl who has a kid and had an abusive ex-boyfriend doesn't make you lame - in fact, quite the opposite - it would make you sane.

I don't know if I wanna know how much money you've already given to her, but I'd recommend you cut ties now as politely as possible (and don't give her any more money) and tell her to take a hike as gently as possible (or not, your call). Wish her the best of luck, move on with your life, and let some other sorry sap get suckered into the manipulation.

You deserve better dude. You come off as a really nice guy, and I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we appreciate that about you. But don't feel obligated to be the knight in shining armor for a girl who's getting drunk at midnight because she's still not ready to be a mom for her child.

Yeah, I have to agree with SGR. It sounds like the girl is taking advantage of you. I'd distance myself from her as fast as I could.

Psy-Fi 03-04-2023 05:35 AM

SGR is spot-on. And I'll add that you don't know how many other guys she might be giving this same line to besides you. Sounds like she's fishing for suckers.

Yes, I suppose I was naively trying to put the best spin on things for Mindfulness's sake - but you' re being more realistic, SGR. In fact in most cases, a good hard-working mom is likely going to fall asleep herself the minute her kid lets her.

Absolutely. Same goes for a good hard-working dad. Kids are precious, but they're absolutely exhausting.

I've heard about enough relationship horror stories to know the genesis of one when I see it (or hear about it in this case).

I absolutely love women. But men have been socially conditioned to please women. That's what we do. And that's a good thing for society and civilization. But women know, consciously or not, about our proclivity for pleasing them. And women know how easily they can hypnotize us - and they can either use this power for good...or for evil. Sometimes all it takes is good looks to make men commit to some of the worst decisions of their lives. As Yoda would say: "Tread carefully, we must"
