Boil the broccoli for about 20 minutes. Make a cheese sauce with cheddar, velveeta, worsheister sauce, and half a beer. Pour that **** on the broccoli, cook yourself a good steak and bake a potato, plate it all up and bon appétit.

Don't knock it till you've tried it.

You could roast them in the oven, just cut them evenly, drizzle a little olive oil over them and season how you like. Roasted vegetables are great because you don't lose any of the nutrients like you do with steaming, and the roasting process really enhances the flavor of the vegetable itself. I typically use just salt, pepper, garlic, and red chili flakes. But a little curry powder is nice as well.

I like cheese on some things so I'll never put cheese on anything else ever again out of sheer terror.

Making it bomb takes time! If you wanted to speed it up you could cover the broc with aluminum foil. That will cause them to steam a bit while they're roasting, and again is a better alternative to just steaming with water and losing all the nutrients. I usually do 375 in ten minutes increments, shake the pan to loosen everything up, and just keep roasting and checking on them until they're fork tender.
