Default Do you ever write anything?

I daydream a lot, and more often than not, I think about some fantastical story. Occasionally, I will write these down, and looking back at all the stories I have written there is a running total of well over 80,617 (oh sorry Briks, I mean 80.617) words of random short stories I have written. I guess you could say I love to write.

Most of what I have written is nowhere near finished, but a few of them are quite long. I use the notes app on my iPhone which syncs over my email and allows me to edit them on my computer. I enjoy free writing, because it aids in the development of my writing skills, which I plan on putting to use one day.

Mostly I write the odd story based on something else, but a few are original creations. I started working on a doom-y story that started as a way to expand my powers of description, in a way that was more fun than some stock writing assignment. The strangest one I wrote is one about a knight confronting a dragon. The longest one I have written, and it is one of the few shining accomplishments in my life to this point, is 10,547 words, which equates to roughly 26 pages, and all of it is original.

Enough about me, what about you? Do any of you like writing things in your free time?

I write and throw away my life story on a daily basis. I also write in my own little private music journal where I document things and such to myself. I don't do much writing besides that, at least not anymore.

I've written about four novels I will never finish, at least two of which are trilogies. I used to write a lot (almost all the time) but got lazy and distracted and now I don't really have the self-discipline to get back into it.

If anyone wants examples I can do that...

i write sometimes. i have an idea for a book that if i ever get around to fleshing out i would just spam online for free in the hopes that anyone might read it. i mostly just do it to record some of the **** i've seen/come across though.. i'm not all that creative i basically just take reality and tweak it slightly for the sake of storytelling

I write poetry and prose in German, a short text with illustrations from a friend is due to be released in the magazine of the academy of arts of our city soon.
I also sometimes write humorous poetry in Russian.

This is my film blog.

I write all the time. It's the best blog on film in the galaxy and all of you should read it, like ten times a day, I don't care if you read it over again, just read it.

Read it.

I used to write a lot more but I'm constantly documenting ideas for stories or characters. My favorite genre is creative nonfiction, I've been printed in small publications and won contests throughout the years, but nothing substantial.

Wow! Congratulations Steph! I still remember "The Feelings Seller": gave me goosebumps.
