I've already stated my reasons for making the competition the way it is. Some people enjoy themes, some don't, and so the competition alternates between having a theme and not having one. If you want to submit a free form story, get to work writing it, and you can submit it when the next round comes. You can use the extra time between rounds to refine your stories, rather then complain that a thread caters to more people than just a loud fraction.

The Olympics could just be about the summer games, but they incorporate the winter games as well, even though many athletes don't compete in both.

like i said... fair enough, it's your competition and you can do it the way you want

i will just mention that nobody on MB is likely to be an olympic-tier writer. the olympics are organized the way they are cause it's all about getting the best of the best in each respective sport and pitting them against eachother.

where as if MB were to have an olympics it would be more like the special olympics where everyone wins a trophy just for trying

so you can try to have a themed competition.. i would just say if you get few responses/entries then you might consider that a sign that you'd be better off opening it up a bit

Alright, there is just over a week left! If anyone else wants to submit a story, there's still plenty of time to whip something up. Remember, it can be in whatever format you want, and the length is up to you as well.

Okay, the horror contest is over! Next up is a theme-less free-for-all competition. You can submit whatever you want, in any format. The deadline is two weeks from now, on the 25th.
