Wow, now there's a story you'll be telling your grandchildren!

People jump in front of trains every day here. Every fucking day. And they disrupt the commuter train schedules so much when they do so that the government has taken to fining the suicide's family for inconveniencing everyone...because, you know, in a place like Tokyo, time is money.

And then there's Aokigahara Forest ("Suicide Forest") at the foot of Mt Fuji, another super popular place to kill yourself. My wife, my friends, and I went into the forest a couple years ago looking for dead bodies. We didn't find any--the forest is massive--but we did find these signs all over the place:

"Your life is a precious gift you received from your parents. Please think quietly one more time about your parents, your siblings, and/or your children. Don't fret alone; contact us." And then there's some contact info.

As for trains, the Chuo line in Tokyo is the best place to jump because, at one spot, the rapid blows through a certain station. If you jump there, you splatter.

Wow.....I blame all work and more violin practice...I mean **** thats wild.I do know about the suicide forrest I just didnt think it was gonna be like enough for them to put up a sign.

In Japan, the probably force their children to play the shamisen.

This is the popular suicide spot here in San Diego. They've even installed a couple of suicide hot lines at the apex of it. You can see the little black boxes in this picture.
