You're lucky. I'll probably have to go back to the workplace I hate in a couple of weeks.

I get to spend the next couple of weeks watching completed fighter jet engines get tested.

Rjinn 07-20-2012 07:43 PM

Well I get to watch NBA throughout day shifts but that's about it.

Flyingpig437 07-21-2012 03:28 AM

Woke up in my new rooom today after deciding to move pretty much on the pur of the moment to save £80 per mth. I prefer the room but not the house. Even though it's got a proper shower, which I'll report on after i've used it in an hr. or so, there's just something about the place I don't feel good about. And the guy who lives across thelanding freaks me out. He's got a nose ring and a mustache which just looks weird.

Howard the Duck 07-21-2012 05:14 AM

it's a very cool day so i have been sleeping through most of it

just woke up at 6.30 pm just now

I think you should call the police.

The Flying Pig's starting up again, we''ll be getting a blow by blow account of the weirdos and troublemakers that roam about his new abode.

PoorOldPo 07-22-2012 12:39 PM

Sat by the coast of the shannon in a forest with my mates at 3-4 in the morning, with a fire briquette burning at our feet, and the distant lights of the living bright through the looming branches of the maternal tree we sat under.

Mrd00d 07-22-2012 12:52 PM

That sounds fantastic, my friend.

FRED HALE SR. 07-23-2012 10:30 AM

I' was just going out to get a burger and met the guy whot threatened me and the guy upstairs and they didn't know I'd just moved back then we heard shouing and banging on the door. They said it was a prostitute who's been coming back and told me not to let her in. When I went out she started going 'where's ****in' Derek. He ****in' owes me money. I'm a traveler and I'm coming back with the lads and your going to get the **** kicked out of you.' I said 'it's not got anything to do with me...I don't even like the guy' and she said she 'couldnt give a ****'. She's actually been in my room once Derek brought her back and seemed nice then when. Then as I was walking off I heard her say '20 past 7 your doors getting kicked in' Then she was on the phone giving someone or pretending to give somene a description of me!! And Derek and the guy upstaris had just been telling me the room I've just left was in a 'rough as ****' part of town!!!! Now that's a ****in' irony!!

Oh yeah and i've moved back into my old room.

It was something else. :) It was so dark, we couldn't see past half a metre, only hear the river, and the bridge in the backround, this one.

Should have a new one in 5-7 business days.
Being without a computer has its perks, though. When I am in this situation, I am forced to do something constructive! And today, I have done just that...

Rearranged my room/studio so that it's a more simple and functional space (relative to what it was before). Previously, everything was cluttered to hell and the simple act of connecting my synthesizer to my mixer involved unspeakable effort and gratuitous obscenities.
Now, I have thought ahead, and everything is ready, and if not, very reachable.
Also replaced the uselessness of those wall panels all being behind my station, and placed them around the room... the acoustic effect is actually far better. Not perfect, as I still require bass traps and more diffusion material, but it's a step up.

Also, I was able to jury-rig my desk into no longer being a corner desk, and the added linear desk real-estate has enabled me to both get out of the corner with my speakers, and widen my listening field so that an equilateral triangle is now possible without having to be 2 inches away from my screens.

This is the result:

My only regret is that I will not be able to use it properly for a week. Hurry up, new motherboard!

 the best part about all the pictures is the cat tbh

I got in touch with a temp agency today, and they offered me a warehouse position. I'm supposed to hear back from them tomorrow or soon.

Freebase Dali 07-24-2012 01:56 AM

Took in a stray today. Actually, it's my cousin. His home situation fell through, so he's staying on my couch for a while. Anyway, I'm going to get him to sign up here, because he's really into music, so if there's a noob that goes around saying he's Dali's cousin, that's why.

Well I got the flu a couple of days ago. Is it a good idea to go to the gym and try to sweat it out?

ThePhanastasio 07-26-2012 01:57 AM

Today I learned what awkward truly is, and I never would have thought that it would, in theory, be as awkward as it really is.

A girl who was like, my best friend in high school, and with whom I lost touch almost immediately afterwards, is getting married. I graduated in 2005, and I haven't seen her since, oh, we'll say early 2006.

She invited me to her wedding for next month, and is all, "Please, please come; I really want you to be there!"

This is probably the most uncomfortable I've ever been in my life.

I don't think so. Your body is already over expending energy (does that make sense?) to fight off the virus. Sweating it out is NOT a good idea, really. The most important things right now are taking in a lot of fluids (no alcohol or anything sugary) and resting. Exercise will make things worse.

I heard that was a good album, but I've been sleeping on it. Is it true that Keith Richards did a guest spot?

She was wrong, you'll dehydrate. Lots of fluids, rest and maybe shoot some heroin for the pain.

Flyingpig437 07-26-2012 09:55 AM

Went into sign on today and found out it was only Thursday. funnily enough I was actually thinking earlier on today this weeks gone quick. Musta been all that messing about moving into one house and then back into here plus I haven't got my t.v which if I had have had then I'd know what day it was from watching Coronation st. which is pretty much, apart from the news, the only programme I watch.

Been running constantly since 1960 and usually on at least 3 times a week. Takes place in a suburb of Manchester.
