She received a notice of termination a couple of days ago, but I don't know if it's concrete. There still awaits a meeting about it, so it can happen anytime.

I've spent the whole day job hunting, and I'll have to spend the next week doing the same. It's incredibly unsettling.

My day was good, I made a delicious lemon meringue pie! To die for.

Well that would definitely be interesting  It would get discussed in the sex thread eventually.

FETCHER. 08-24-2012 05:38 AM

I was going to ask if I also could come for pie. Somehow I changed my mind... You dirty bastards :)

Edit: It's 7:55 am. Why the **** is this conversation even happening? lol

FETCHER. 08-24-2012 05:59 AM

If he makes a mean breakfast, I'm in.

seriously my condolences

Burning Down 08-24-2012 06:19 AM

Not your cat right Jans? How sad though. Horrible end to a terrible day!

Vertigo 08-24-2012 06:27 AM

I've got two ulcers in my mouth and two corns on my foot. At least the bit inbetween is holding up fairly well...

No, not my cat. We have a lot of feral cats in my neighborhood. It still was really sad though, especially with the other cats around watching me and meowing.

Plankton 08-24-2012 06:58 AM

Yeah that's rough Janz. My GF cat sits once in a while for a friend, and last week one of them had a couple kittens that didn't make it (they're still teenagers in cat years). I was called to come help do the morbid job of puting them to rest. My GF has 4 cats herself, so it was a bit unsettling.

nursing a toothache

feels reparable, though, and not root canal material damage

Hope you don't have to get any fillings or whatever... Heard that getting a filling hurts because they drill out the cavities and whatnot. I wouldn't know though, never had a cavity. I've had a cracked tooth filled though - no drilling involved.

Fillings don't hurt much, people just like to bitch about stuff. They generally will numb you up and the cavities that they drill out are far smaller than you would think. I would say that the sound is atrocious, the high pitched shriek of the drill still gives me nightmares.

I remember when I had my wisdom teeth out, three of them had to be drilled out. I'm sure they used a bigger drill but the sound was horrible. Plus I was on all kinds of drugs.

I have literally fought a computer virus with all my power all of last night. The best I could do was hold it at bay and not let it do anything, but it is somehow getting out of quarantine. I have found the direct file, and somehow it isn't letting me delete it manually. I'm just giving it and paying someone to deal with it, I need this computer for school and can't waste any more time. :soapbox:

I clean our computers on a regular basis here at work, and have had much success over the years using this method:

Coding Horror: How to Clean Up a Windows Spyware Infestation

I know it's a bit dated, but it still works well, along with a full boot time scan afterwards.

FETCHER. 08-24-2012 11:52 AM

I got 4 fillings when I had a really bad chest infection, I actually thought I was going to drown in phlegm. I'm too much of a pussy to go back now because the experience was so horrible.

Had 2 great job interviews today :)

LoathsomePete 08-24-2012 06:14 PM

Had a very very prosperous workweek and could very easily pay rent for my new place and have more than enough to spend on groceries and gas... kind of wish I didn't tell my friend with the truck to wait until September 1st :-/

Franco Pepe Kalle 08-24-2012 06:30 PM

Today I was going with my family to barbership. It was so damn odd. I mean all the barbers were talking about weed and why people don't listen because they smoke weed and ****. I was asked whether I love weed? I said no but I did say that it should be legalized. All the barber folks said, what up man. Also my dad was getting so many complements. They said that he is a nice man because he knows how to excite his honey (my mom). My dad added that my mom has a nice booty and he also does what he can to surprise his mom. What is interesting is that my dad spoked about how they hold hands when they watch soccer (it's true, I have seen it way too much, eeww).

As for me, I was spending time circulating finding a very controversial video of a pastor in France, basically calling homosexuality a major sickness. After that a white person came after and pushed him down saying that he wants to hurt homosexuals and the pastor probably repsonded "Je ne pas affaire a toi, monsoir" probably meaing I do not matter you, mister or "Je ne pas attaque a toi, monsoir" meaning I did not attack you, mister. I am not sure because I could not quite hear it clearly but one of them is what the pastor said. It was a heated argument and basically someone wanted to call the police. Afterwards, the pastor continued to talk about the importance of the sins of the world. If you ask, I say "I don't know, you make your own judgment".

He seriously just brought home a waffle maker!

So today was the last day at my full time summer job (damn I'm going to miss it, best job ever). I was offered a full-time permanent position there, but then I said I was going back to school. My boss then said that I can work on the occasional Saturday and/or Sunday on the factory floor and possibly more work in the office if they need me. This is so awesome, because I'll get more money ($35/hour for me on the weekends!), work less, and still be able to go to school and help grade school kids with the music homework.

I also work in the sexual health clinic at school, and have been since last September. That's only during the school year though, but it's great because they know exactly when you can work and when you have class, etc. because it's done by the school.

My boyfriend Dan just got a job as a bartender at a golf club nearby, and they pay really well. Plus he teaches piano most days of the week. I'm so happy, I honestly thought we would have almost no money at all...

Mojo 08-24-2012 06:59 PM

Today I went to the pub from work at 4, then on to a few other places ending up at a local beer festival and getting home for about 1am. I'm surprised to feel still rather collected.

In the morning I'm taking a trip up to Edinburgh to check out a bit of the Fringe, which should be incredible fun as usual.

Key 08-24-2012 07:25 PM

Let myself have the day to lounge around and do nothing, been out non-stop and haven't had much time to just gather my thoughts by myself. I feel refreshed and ready to take on the world.

gunnels 08-24-2012 07:30 PM

^(Mojo) Mucho jealous. I always wanted to go to Scotland.

Just finished up my first week of college. Much easier than everyone makes it out to be; or, at least my personality clicks more with campus life than High School life.
Japanese is going to be a thorn in my side, though.
