Maybe there was a large wildfire out west that killed huge amounts of vegetation. Maybe your mom dusted off that cross in your kitchen.

I work for a nonprofit connecting local low-income/homeless/at-risk families with community resources and childcare subsidies. I'm in the business of helping families get off government aid and become self sustainable. I started at the end of January, so I'm still new, but the more I learn about the depth of our agency the more I love it here.

Maybe, but the fire in Santa Rosa didn't burn up San Diego's vegetation and I don't visit my parents very often.

Good point. I've breathed in more ashes of dead bodies than I have pollen these last couple years.

Wait, what exactly do you do? My OH cynicism senses are tingling at the idea of getting po' people off welfare with a non-profit organization. I'm assuming you don't just pay their bills so what exactly is it that you're doing and how will it build to anything useful?
