“I like your face” is a great line. Winner every time unless your OH and the girl is telling you to **** off cause she doesnt want to be around you right now and you think telling her how beautiful she is is a good idea. Not only is that bad advice but it makes you seem desperate and pathetic.

^ So, some things about beauty, but a lot that is more subtle/perceptive. I feel like this vindicates both us really - turns out that we are both right.
EDIT: Plus what DWV has just posted: sometimes compliments work, sometimes they come across as inappropriate. Not exactly "winner every time" as you suggested.
