Sounds like he might've been a former LaRouchie turned Trumper.

Actually went to the park this morning. Took the dog. Looked at the sea.

80% of the park is closed for hurricane repairs. It has an incredible bird watching tower but it was damaged. They get right on building it back. Could be a job opportunity even though I have zero carpentry / construction skills. I might shoot a resume over later.

Construction work is about the best you can do in Florida as a low skilled worker. At least that's how it was in south Florida. No industry or manufacturing at all down there. The only other decent (legal) hustle is if you're an extrovert and reasonably attractive (preferably female) then you can make bank at some of the bars and restaurants down there on tips alone. Otherwise you're **** outta luck. Better either have a degree/skill or a plug for cheap coke.

Construction is hard work though if you're the unskilled/inexperienced variety. Lot of grunt work, exposure to the elements etc. At least it's not summer. Good luck.

Yeah I’d die. I know. But like I’ve watched the construction rebuilding the walkways and stuff at this park. I’m not saying it’s easy but it’s not like the dudes putting up a new condo and ****. They actually work for the park they’re not farmed out labor.

I’m not even saying at all I can get job, hang, or do it or anything though. Point taken.

Still I could try. I mean I ain’t doing **** and love that park. Applied before actually. Obviously didn’t get it.

I've never encountered someone who got a walk-on job laboring with no real experience who's over the age of 50. ...and you'd be working for a park district, I'm assuming, which would basically mean working for the gov't. That's a helluva trail to blaze there OH. I'm pullin for ya.

I’ve been turned down for like 100 jobs since I quit teaching so it’s not like a new experience. Preciate it though. Idk wtf to do tbh

Ever tried lifting a wheelbarrow full of wet cement? Neither have I, but I imagine construction work is physically very demanding. On the other hand it's outdoors, less easy to supervise; if the UK is anything to go by, there are usually various scams going on so you get a bit of downtime on the job too.

A job more in my realm of experience, and within the reach of any native English speaker:-
