Nearly 100 women suffered under dancing doctor's scalpel, lawyer says This is the truly the most culturally “Atlanta” news story I’ve ever seen. Edit: had to change a dead youtube clip Quote:

Georgia is also the home state of the legendary Otis Redding
Like Ray Charles I’m pretty much just going to let the music do the talking Redding, still one of the most recognizable names in soul, drowned in the frigid December waters of Wisconsin’s Lake Monona following a plane crash in 1967. James Brown warned Redding not to get on that plane. Redding had just been in the studio working on his biggest hit (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay three days earlier. His funeral was held in this building in Macon, GA.

The whistling at the end of that song was just a placeholder, later to be replaced by singing, but he died before he got around to doing it.
The whistling and the story behind it make an already perfect song even better.

I still got some nostalgia and love for the Red Album from Savannah, Georgia's Baroness.

REM
REM truly gained tremendous recognition locally before they broke nationally and become one of the biggest rock bands of all time. I remember when this came out. a very peculiar very 80’s video and the classic studio version
