Probably more along the lines of a sexual tbh if I were to put a name to it.

@Adidasss Thanks for the response.

Might just be anecdotal, but I agree on LGBT people generally developing resilience. Growing up as a guy in the south (esp. an area full of military families) with even a hint of femininity, or even just hair longer than a buzzcut, you have to learn to defend yourself pretty quickly.

Gender fluidity is an interesting topic. I think I remember reading a few studies awhile back that concluded that very few people are truly always 100% "straight" or "gay". And of course, there was that study that blew up everywhere that said that the majority of women are actually bisexual (can't remember if it was worldwide or just in the U.S.). But it's a complex topic with a vast amount of biological and sociological factors. Some people are pretty much born with their orientation, others find it later on in life. In the end, I guess all you can really do is let people figure everything out in their own way, without pressuring them or making assumptions (i.e., saying stuff like "I can make them straight", or "they're just faking").

Btw, the singer in that track, Sylvester, has a song in the first episode of Glow, when they're doing aerobics. As soon as I heard it start to play I was like "OH SHIIIIIIIIIT"

'Cause Liverpool is all about dem big riddims. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a lot of Hi-NRG, Freestyle, and House there in the '80s/'90s.

Went on Hi-NRG wiki page and Dead or Alive and FGTH were on there so that's probably why.

They've made some big riddims indeed.

I would not even quantify this. I think everyone develops a resilience. Sex is such a large part of social life that it has basically come to dominate most real world interaction. It is probably even worse for "straight people" because any time they do anything with a member of the opposite sex it is assumed that they are dating or wanting to date. The pressure socially to reproduce or mate is astoundingly mystifying.

Social pressure to conform to societal expectations of relationships/family is definitely NOT comparable to the real threats of or actual violence and quotidian expressions of hate that the LGBT community has to face in most of the world. Two VERY different issues, with very different impact on the respective people. :/

I assume you're in your early teens and during that time those things are definitely being blown out of proportion. But it gets better and more chill later on.
