I just got an app on my phone so I can read all my books that I steal in pdf format.

I also got Pokemon yellow cause I never played the Pokemon games.

I have soooooo much experience with that. So much. Glad I finally taught myself EMDR to help with the resulting trauma and fear (obviously it's not the same as going to an EMDR trained/certified therapist, but whatever, I'm poor and some therapists have said it's fine to do on your own if that's your only option)

Anyway yes, what Marie said, and also

Yes I'm aware but I didn't have time to write a full, thorough dissertation-length post covering all of THAT too in part because I am not male. I wasn't starting a who-has-it-worse contest, I was just talking about a distinctly female experience that IMO MAY POSSIBLY feel more degrading, punishing, confusing and icky than the kind of social conditioning --specifically the kind relating to how one views their body and how one should exist within/decorate their body-- boys and young men experience. But yes it's toxic all around as Marie said. I am not negating men's own uniquely horrible struggles in our toxic clown world merely by talking about some specific thing women commonly experience.

Aside from all that, humans in general have a tendency to want to seek out outside sources to derive their self-worth/self-esteem from rather than within themselves/more healthy sources, so. I'm obviously aware of the obvious things, mr obvious.

More like OBJECTIVELY ****ING WILL FOR CERTAIN

just because elph is on some toxic teenage loverboy **** with no discernable personality otherwise doesn't make it less true that women are conditioned to seek, need, expect, covet, spend their money and live their lives around being deemed sexually attractive by men.

Elph is just codependent DO NOT CONCEDE GIRL

I wonder how many women on this very forum have an experience of genuine fear due to a man stalking or being overly aggressive.

None for me, but that's just me being lucky, and the fact that I don't hang around on other Internet places really. Only unthreathening experiences, Facebook guys who send a friend request and you're like 'wait do I know you or not? I'll accept just in case' and then comes the 'you have a boyfriend? You married?'

Urban Hatemonger traumatized many underage girls on this site while being hailed as the backbone of mb. Many of the girls reported it, 100% of the mods ignored it.

Im just saying this is a thing that's sadly pretty prevelant for men too...an essential component of toxic masculinity even

Christ

I know and that's true, but the difference with the female experience is quite fundamental I think, so it's important to make the distinction

Lucem Ferre 11-21-2020 06:58 PM

Never knew the guy.

I basically agree, I just habitually (hrMmMm wOnDeR wHy) soften my opinions/statements with lots of "IMO, idk I guess" and "maybe/possibly/in some cases" etc in lieu of a disclaimer in order to avoid the inevitable onslaught of "UHHH BUT WHAT ABOUT HOW MEN...." (typically on facebook or reddit) that tends to occur otherwise. It's a condition -____-

Oh I deeply understand, I just hate to see it. You must learn to collect the male tears for their miraculous anti-aging properties.

Marie Monday 11-21-2020 07:05 PM

It's much more general than that too. Women tend to do that a lot when making any point, I notice it in myself too

That would probably be useful for shorter books maybe but definitely not the giant obscure occult tomes or Victorian era perfumery books or whatever. I want one of the fancy newfangled e-readers that are super easy on the eyes (I have blue light blocking glasses however a.) they make me look like a bug, everyone says so and b.) ? idk, I lose them a lot.) so I can read in long stretches and actually FINISH A BOOK FOR ONCE , PLEASE GOD/DOLLY PARTON

I must. Alternately, I will just spitefully age into a grotesque baba yaga type spectre and terrorize the men for all eternity
