Just as many if not more assumptions that have come out of psychology and sociology have been wrong
The idea that biology applies to every organism except humans is just our own hubris |
Not really
It's an advantage that we can learn behavior and pass on information verbally That doesn't mean we ceased to have instincts or became less reliant on them Rather our instincts expanded to include the ability to learn things via social interaction and observation. All of this serves the same basic function that any instinct serves. Which is just guidelines to live by. |
Source?
I mean you are straight up delusional if you think nature somehow doesn't apply to us cause through some natural process we superceded nature. |
That's sorta my point though
Societal influences are informed to a large extent by natural trends So proclaiming it's social and not natural is just as nonsensical as claiming the reverse. |
So take a drug that affects you physiologically to erase the influence of nature
Makes sense |
You could say the same about biology lol.
The social aspect is just an extension of biology in reality. |

It's funny how you are proposing all this stuff and yet are skeptical about the most basic and mainstream biology. |
I understand the difference
You're just wrong in assuming that one overrides the other completely You didn't even know what sexual selection was at the start of this convo so don't even bother trying to act like you're on sone different level of understanding. Both me and OH understand this question better than you do. |
