No, those two definitely go a lot lower. TWBB is beautifully shot, well acted, has a great concept, and has a great score, but it's somehow lacking something a fundamental way. By the end of the movie, I found myself just not really caring. The Master was like that too, but with less impressive cinematography and a less memorable score.

There Will Be Blood>The Master>Magnolia>Boogie Nights>Punch Drunk Love>Inherent Vice>Hard Eight I have't see The Phantom Thread yet. Frown is right though. TWBB is one of the best films of all time. |
