The Iceman

This didn't connect with me at all when I first tried it, but I gave it a more serious watch and loved it. The ending was absolutely crushing, it's incredible how they can make such a cold and horrific person such a sympathetic character. 4/5

Perfect movie. Soderbergh's magnum opus.

God damn man. Soderbergh. What a Lej. I re-watched Logan Lucky two nights ago and he's in peak form right now.

Love that flick. Pretty much love anything Shannon is in. Was nice to see Chris Evans playing a role so out of his usual stuff too.

Life is stranger than fiction indeed!

Watched A Single Man this evening. Did not disappoint. Very beautifully made, great acting, an interesting and heartfelt take on the topic of suicide unlike anything I've seen in any other movie. Also interesting and original as a "gay" movie.

I also loved how well done the use of different color schemes was. It could have been more of an empty gimmick (it usually is (Sin City, for example). Or very on the nose (see Schindler's List)), but in this case, it actually enriched the movie and let the script use fewer words, by hinting at the mental state of characters through color usage. Neat.

Put it on my "favorite movies" shelf when it was over.

The Shape of Water. Can someone explain to me again why this won best picture? It was alright but sheesh.

Spoiler for my thoughts:
The painter fella is an outcast who imagines the whole thing. It's a metaphor for him giving up on his sexuality because of his environment.

Brruhhh. That makes it a little better I suppose.

Probably because it was a really good movie.
