Have you seen 'Storm Warning' from your neck of the woods. I think it's better than Wolf Creek personally.

Definitely going to see it.

Just waiting for a streaming of Mash (the movie) to buffer. Never liked the series, so **** knows what I'll think of this - I'm required to do this by my course though, so wish me luck :thumb:

I could spend hours with Jodie Foster :D and yes I know her sexual orientation before anyone mentions it.

The movie is brilliant. The use of cross dialogue is superb.

As long as you don't like her as much as John Hinckley. :D

My flatmate is getting his wisdom teeth removed and expects to be out of action for a while so he bought 6 dvds to watch at home and 3 of them are Gervais stand ups. I'll probably watch them with him - I've never really checked out any Gervais stuff outside the Office, Extras and his podcast.

Hilariously disturbing.

For some reason I have that on divx...and I'm not really into b-horror comedies from down under...:\

Yeah me neither, apart from some youtube clips. But he was brilliant. I almost pissed myself laughing at one point...Such a funny man...http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c.../radosnice.gif

Um, that's actually a New Zealand film as far as I know so...:\

FaSho 11-19-2008 08:01 AM

It is. It came out last march there, but we just got it a few months ago over here.

The Bank Job - completely unbelievable

The guy's got a bag full of cash and a smokin' hot girl all over his stick that wants to disappear with him and he sticks with the wife and kids. Absurd

Q (1982)

Tongue-in-cheek, intentionally schlocky movie about the Aztec winged serpent god Quetzlcoatl living in the Chrysler building and feeding on the residents of New York City. This movie stars both David Carradine and Richard Roundtree so you know it's going to be something special. Is it the greatest movie ever made? No. Is it a must-see for anyone who digs B-movies? Yes, absolutely. It's a highly entertaining, exciting movie with some really memorable moments. The special effects haven't aged well, but for me at least, the herky-jerky claymation effects of the monster are part of the appeal.

I know, obviously it's a New Zealand film. I just think it's funny that the only well-known film that can come out of them is one about sheep. When everybody knows NZ get poked fun at about the sheep. Etc.

Any movie with Kwai Chang Caine and John Shaft in it has to be the greatest movie EVER! :yikes:

Great movie. Great fun and effects:

It's the second time that I have seen this fantastic gentle road movie. If this movie was a European movie then it would have had a lot more exposure. Beautiful, lyrical and with an exquisite soundtrack:

One of my fav movies ever :)

mannny 11-22-2008 11:00 PM

^That's also in my top 5 faves.

I just watched Human Nature (also directed by Michel Gondry, and written by Charlie Kaufman). It was pretty hilarious, not as good as Kaufman's others but it was still a very entertaining film.

It was pretty mediocre, the worst Ramones movie I've seen.

Took an absolute age to get started and it isn't the most original film ever but the last 30 mins or so is non stop thrills. Not bad. Quick fact: The first horror film i've ever actually seen in a cinema! Makes it better i think.

http://www.preisvergleich.org/pimage...9686116_20.jpg

Didn't think i'd like it at all, thought it would be fairly watered down, but what i liked was those warm moments, i was genuinely sad when the old guy (with the ma-hu-sive spliffs) had the heart attack. Pretty good!

Wifey Boozer 11-23-2008 10:34 AM

This is by far my favorite experimental film ever. Witty screenwriter (Cate Blanchett hits like a woman. And Billy the Kid is Dylanesque.), likewise direction. The actors blew me away. Especially Blanchett... jesus, her role may be the best portrayal of Dylan in this movie. Her and Bale's part, speaking as Arthur Rimbaud. Ginsberg's character's appearence made me cream. "Maybe you sold out to God." If you haven't seen this movie, you're unenlightened. 11 stars. Because it goes up to eleven.

I just tried to find the site but I can't :( If I do I'll post it up! But I do remember one of the endings was where they are both old and grey wrinkly old people, and Clementine is in the doctor's office getting Joel's character erased again. It pretty much depicts that they keep meeting each other and erasing each other over and over and over and over again until they are really old. It's really sad.

The first time I saw this movie I didn't really enjoy it but I watched it again the next day then I really appreciated it. I think Richard Gere's character was pointless and stupid but whatever everyone else was so good that it makes up for him. And I agree Blanchett was amazing. She is by so far my favorite actress and I don't think there is a better actress out there right now (for her generation).

And yes David Cross as Allen Ginsberg made me giggle like a little girl.

I was expecting to hate this movie but it was actually good, and I loved the ending.

ViolentNoiseParade 11-25-2008 03:08 PM

I recently saw the movie Sukiyaki Western Django (by Takashi Mike) and I would have to say it is definitely one of my top movies now, without a doubt.

It's a Japanese Western, samurai, gang war, high noon, six guns and samurai sword theatrical extravaganza!

It is wonderful to look at visually and the subtle referencing to all sorts of samurai/cowboy movies makes it a great film for someone who likes samurai/cowboy movies. I can't really say enough about it.

The narrative sequence of this movie really ****s with you, literally told backwards, in little pieces.. which plays together with the plot of the movie (main character Leonard has no short term memory.) This is a great example of post-modern film. It lags at times, but full of 'ah-ha' moments. 7/10
