i agree it would have been more enjoyable if Paul Giamatti had turned out to be the ghost of a cyborg at the end and had a lightsabre duel with that other guy, and there could have been at least one good motorcycle chase... but you can't have everything.

One of the better sci-fi flicks I've seen in the last few years. Starts off as a rather annoying homage to Solaris/2001 but develops into something very original. And made for only 5 mil. Gotta respect that. Plus, it was directed by Bowie's son.

Charlie Bartlett's sort of a shrink movie. It's about a rich high school kid that wants to be popular so he sets up in the school's bathroom to help people with their problems. He gets physicians to put him on all these medications, then writes prescriptions for the other students. He dates the alcoholic principal's daughter, which results in all sorts of shenanigans. That's a terrible review, and makes the movie sound bad, but it's actually one of the best I've seen in quite a long time. I'd advise completely ignoring what I wrote about it and checking it out. |

One of the most compelling and poignant documentaries I've ever seen and I'd imagine one of the best documentaries about mental illness. Absolutely heartbreaking.
