Man of Steel is most likely going to do well but I'm just not interested enough to see it.

Green Lantern was pretty awful. We will have to see how the Wonder Woman film turns out as well if they are still working on it.

Mask of the Phantasm was good but most recently I saw Under the Red Hood and I would probably give that the edge if I had to choose between those two.

Exactly they don't need to go that route but they are to grab more than just comic nerds. It's a trend that's taking place more and more though most likely as a result of seeing the response Nolan's trilogy received.

That's not a bad thing though, sometimes you need to take a look at a source material from someone not intimately involved with the source material, that way you can find out new things about it that you would have never thought. With characters as old as Batman, you need that otherwise the character will begin to stagnate.

It's a pretty weak criticism I admit, and to be fair to Nolan, he really did throw a lot of shoutouts to some of the past Batman comicbooks in The Dark Knight Returns so I think I'm just talking out my ass, making controversy for the sake of making controversy.

Also, no conversation about which Batman movie is the best would be complete without mention of the best Batman movie

Well I am impressed at Nolan doing shoutouts in the first place, because many directors don't and decide that their ideas are the only ones that will be used not the original material the movie is based on. I definitely agree about renewing the characters image, I like the idea of each movie I see of Batman to show a new side of him that I didn't know before, even if it's something small like a mannerism or act of sorts.

I don't think you are making controversy for the sake of it, movies need to be criticised to ensure they strive to improve and meet the approval of the target audience.

I agree, they are trying to make these comic movies more accesable to different audiences.

Hehe sounds good! I watched half yesterday, it was rather comical! Were movies in the 90's that bad or was it just Batman? I mean Jim Carey really? So far Nicole Kidman is the only part I'm enjoying about it. I will give you a complete report if I get through it tonight.
