Also, i'm getting DC Universe Online on my PC again because I remember how much I really enjoyed it. I also forgot I have one lvl 30 character that I want to mess around with. |

Happy b-day and I guess that site's list was incomplete though. Congrats. Still going to beat you down regardless of who you have in your fire team. Has anyone else noticed that e-shop keeps crashing now after the Pokemon update? |
Gta v!

And you may beat my all fire team (still probably not tho) but who says thats what ill be pulling out when we battle ooooh |
I heard someone mentioning something about specific pokemon types in the wild safari zone of people that you friend? I'd love to try that out and no I'm not anywhere near finishing yet. lol
|
Yeah that's basically it but it's like per friend it's one single type and only up to 3 different pokemon. So my safari for you (for example) is fighting but I can only catch machokes and throhs. It's kind of cool because you can catch almost any pokemon regardless of game exclusives but it's just really hard if you don't have many friends haha

but yeah, been playing these Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP http://coolstufftheblog.files.wordpr...1/12/sands.jpg I finished this the other day actually. Pretty much the main reasons you should play this are for the visuals, music and overall presentation. The story's pretty straightforward: you are a wandering nomad who has to take on the "woeful errand" of collecting the 3 pieces of the Trigon(see what it's referencing) and take it up to the summit of the land of Mingi Taw. The visuals in my opinion are beautiful and is one of my favorite artstyles I've ever encountered in a game. It actually has the look and feel of an old adventure game like King's Quest or Space Quest, but it really has it's own style with just the amount of aesthetic detail combined with this graphically low game. Colors in bushes change back and forth each second, giving the feel of the wind blowing through them, at nighttime you see little blinking pizels that feel like fireflies are all around you, and when you get near animals like rabbits and deer, they move so fluidly in a way that almost makes you forget the low pixel count. There's alot of detail put into every section and it's frankly breathtaking at points. The dialogue/writing is pretty interesting and humorous too, where it's set in this very isolated land in the mountains but the characters talk with these sort of anachronisms of phrases that people use today. For example, I found a sign on a hut that said this: Quote:
I really love the music in this game, and as far as I know the soundtrack comes free with it, so it's definitely recommended to listen to. It has this electronic and earthy type of feel that works so well for complimenting the environment and cutscenes. It and the sounds were produced by musician Jim Guthrie, who actually appears later on in the game, and without spoiling too much there a section where you can "jam" with him and a show he puts on near the end. With the controls, that's where it can be a bit troublesome. Pretty much this game was originally a port of an IOS game, and most every action is done using the mouse, where you click on the road or places to move the character there or click on something to interact with it. There's some puzzles you solve where you click on things in the environment in a certain order. It's pretty simple and to be honest you can solve most of them through brute forcing it. There's also a combat system and at first it's kind of challenging but soon you'll be able to breeze through most fights. I will also say that there are some parts of the game where you have to back track and go through the same unskippable cutscenes in order to progress at points. They're not overly long but definitely get dull after the 20th time you see them. Still, this should only take you a few hours, and if you don't mind the drawbacks and want an interesting adventure game experience, then check this out. Singularity http://subspacereviews.files.wordpre...x-360-game.jpg This is a bit of an interesting beast in that while it has some unique and fun elements, it's pretty familiar as an FPS. I've seen it compared to Bioshock, and while there are some similarities both setting and style wise(taking place in the run down remains of a once sprawling land where secret experimentation unbeknownst to the world has taken place), Singularity doesn't have the deeper philosophical or story driven elements of Bioshock and is instead more of a "blast all the enemies with these crazy weapons and abilities" kind of thing. That being said it's pretty fun. The main gimmick here is the use of the TMD, or time manipulation device, and they do some interesting stuff with it. Some of this includes being able to age enemy soldiers to death, send out a time bubble to sow things down that pass through it, and using your "Impulse" to send a shockwave that pushes enemies back. They're also used to solve puzzles, but for the most part those are pretty simple. Along with that, you have your regular arsenal(pistol, AK, shotgun, sniper rifle, minigun) which definitely feels good to use, but my favorite gun by far is the Seeker, which when you focus your aim and fire, sends off a bullet that you can direct towards enemies for a 1-hit kill. You only really use it for certain sections and it's not available to get out of a weapon locker though, plus you immediately lose it when you finish these sections. Still, it's pretty awesome. Intrusion 2 http://cdn3.steampowered.com/v/gfx/a...g?t=1370883990 I actually played this as a free trial when I was trying out that OnLive service last night, along with Dirt 2 and Rogue Legacy(both pretty good), and this one was my favorite trial. It's a 2D sidescrolling platformer/shooter in the vein of Contra and Metal Slug, and it was made by one guy over 3 years. What really makes this game are the really interesting physics and the WTF-ness of the enemies and combat. The way everything in the game moves and feels gives it all it's own weight and doesn't feel like anything I've really played before. It's pretty much a procedurally generated animation system and it can make for some cool moments, where you can ride of top of flying enemies or push around rocks and boxes to crush guys around you. The way that the action is laid out is pretty fun and makes for some really sick moments. My favorite part was when I killed a soldier riding on top of a huge wolf and then got to ride the wolf around while shooting, where enemies I passed were automatically mauled and torn up. I like the music alot too, it gives you that kind of hard rock/cock rock feel when you're machine gunning dudes down that you would hear in some of the most action packed of 80s movies. |

Pokemon Ash Gray
http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/9731/ashgraybg3.png This has got to be one of the funnest hacks of Fire Red that I have played. It follows the story of Ash in the anime but in game form. It does a really good job at it too, what with Pikachu not liking Ash at the start, and stealing the bike from Misty to rush to the Pokemon Center. Very cool way of hacking a game, and it's a lot of fun and well worth your time. |

Alright so I just got this after hearing all this positive stuff about it and so far, 2 hours in, I'm not feelin it. At all. Matter of fact, I feel a bit ripped off. It was only 15$ on steam but still. Hoping it gets better, will get back to y'all on it. It's a re-release of an alleged classic from Japan so it HAS to get better. |

The boss fights look REALLY cool and that's what attracted me to it in the first place. I love good boss fights. But in between the boss fights, so far, it seems like it's just a bunch of running around. Props to the level design and art direction though, pretty neat stuff visually.

These two games were on sale as a bundle on Steam for 8$. I couldn't not get it. I've wanted a GTA game for a long time, and I have heard pretty good things about this one, especially since I want a good graphics one, and GTA V isn't out for PC yet. Very excited about this. Perfect timing too since i'll be on my weekend after work tomorrow. Now to wait for it to download through Steam. |
You just got a new gaming PC right? If so welcome to the hell that is Games for Windows Live on top of RockStar Club.
|
Episodes from Liberty City is a blast, especially The Ballad of Gay Tony. It has a much funkier and funner vibe than GTA IV and is the better game for it. Has a great soundtrack too. Lots of dance, disco and motown.

Fair enough, I mean I'm with you too, the PC is my preferred platform, but I do have to say that GFWL for Grand Theft Auto IV pissed me off.
Anyways here's what I'm playing right now. http://www.gamerzunite.com/graphics/...-doom-img1.jpg It's a mod that really upgrades the original DOOM but in ways that don't betray what it was originally like. It still looks, sounds, and feels like DOOM, but it's adding in mouse aiming, the ability to crouch and jump, and some little texture and particle effects that help modernize the game and almost make it feel like something completely new. It's probably been close to 15 years since I've played DOOM I & II, but with this mod it really does feel like I'm playing a new game. If you missed out on the game back in the day when it came out and want to get a feeling of what it was like, but without having to put up with the design limitations of the day then I would highly recommend this mod. DOOM was the very first video game I ever played, so you might think this is just nostalgia talking, but no, this really does revitalize the game and show that it can still be just as fun today as it was 20 years ago which makes me very happy. |
CrossTunes
My friend just created a new Music / Trivia application in the Appstore called CrossTunes.
I am playing it for the last two days and just cant stop... Tons of songs (not like all the other music apps that determine for you what you hear)... I helped him creating the trailer movie, if you can see if it talks to you.. |

So I've been playing GTA IV for about a day or so now, and I have to admit, I am really enjoying it. I never played any of the games before, so it's still pretty new to me. I wish I had played these games more before because I really do like it. The driving can be sometimes difficult on a keyboard, but it's not too bad.
|
The driving is difficult even on controllers. It is one downside about the game.

Oops. I accidentally posted this in the GTAV thread yesterday. :o:
I've finally gotten around to Skyrim. Brilliant. But one thing I've noticed is that these kind of open world games where there's a million things to do always find new ways to make me feel like a terrible person. My new thing is to stalk the town guards (since they're not named characters and can't give me side missions), slit their throats like a ninja, take their stuff, and then dump their bodies in one of a series of "dump sites" that I have in many of the major cites. Just an awful person. |
I finally got pokemon Y, who wants to pokemon with me?

Finally got this for 20$ on Steam. Really excited to play this since the setting is right up my alley. Going to turn off all the lights tonight, and just play it. I'm probably going to piss my pants. |
I'm playing Pokémon Y. :)
So if anybody wants to trade, send me a private message with your 3DS FC and I'll add you. |
Trine 2 on Wii U. It's pretty good. Has a charm to it.

God damn it, these Steam deals are going to start killing my wallet. Just got these two games for a total of $4.00 after tax:
Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition http://cdn4.steampowered.com/v/gfx/a...g?t=1378296172 Shadow Warrior: Classic Redux http://cdn4.steampowered.com/v/gfx/a...g?t=1382564022 They also have a Portal bundle with Portal and Portal 2 for super cheap. |
Found this through a Youtuber that I regularly watch:
Paranautical Activity http://i1.ytimg.com/sh/0oRKDT41bUs/s...jpg?v=51d97fe0 Think of Binding of Isaac and Quake combined with the graphics of Cube World. Not only is the game amazing, the soundtrack is even better. I love TF2 a lot, but I want another game that helps pass the time when i'm bored, and this one is it. I highly recommend checking it out. It's still in the early beta stages, but it's well worth 10 bucks on steam. |
|
Dungeonland
http://cdn4.steampowered.com/v/gfx/a...g?t=1384275582 Only just started playing this, but holy crap it's fun. It's free on Steam and the screenshots don't do it too much justice since the gameplay is fluid and very easy to figure out. Highly recommended. |
I GOT XERNEAS GUYS
**** yeah |
Can anyone who plays Pokemon X or Y explain to me how the games connect with each other? My brother has X and he really wants me to get Y so we can play together or something. I haven't played Pokemon since Leaf Green on the GBA, lol.
Also, if I bought Pokemon Y, could I play with any of you who have it as well? I will give you my 3DS Friend Code. |
Quote:
I hadn't played since Gold, but it's pretty easy and a lot more fun than the original games. I think I'll just go make a thread for 3DS friend codes because a lot of us have exchanged them but it'd be nice to have them in one place |
