I remember hearing about this game but completely forgot about it. Thanks I just added it to my phone.

Ive been playing Outland, it's really awesome. It kind of feels like a 2D Zelda. It has some really great platforming scenarios and puzzles that mess with your head. I really like the dark/light mechanic, it makes for some crazy crazy platforming goodness.

The graphics are really something else, they're mesmerizing. It can get a little dizzying with all the colors sometimes, but it's an absolute blast to play.

I'm guessing you've never played Zelda 2? :p

Nah but I mean that it feels like a Zelda game. There's a Hub world with a big door in the middle and scattered around are 5 different temples. Each time you finish one theres a orb unlocked on the big door in the middle. You gain abilities and stuff, you fight ridiculously epic bosses.

IT's got all the makings of a Zelda game, you can tell it was heavily inspired by the series.

Ah, you mean side-scrolling. Technically every Zelda game before Ocarina of Time was 2D though.

I bought the set because I wanted to play Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater and Guns of the Patriots again and the first two I haven't played in years, so the chance to play them again in HD was the appeal. Also I've never played Peacewalker so that was another reason. I'm not sure as of yet if Metal Gear Solid is on there (I think it is but not sure what version) but it does have the very old MXS MGS1 and MGS2 games on there in their original form. Plus there are the two digital comics which interest me and a thick booklet of covers.

If you already have the games and remember them pretty well then it's not worth it unless you're a completist. I largely bought them because I also had bought about a week earlier the first three Splinter Cell games in HD, so I was in the mood to buy.

Like you I'm waiting for 5 and by the time I've worked my way through all these I should be ready for it.
Ah yeah... I'll pass. I did buy the HD collection for HD versions of Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater... don't regret it one bit. They look really damn good in HD. I'm amazed how well Sons of Liberty holds up even today... a LOT of work went into that game. I'm currently trying to make my way through it on European Extreme. It's tough. Peace Walker is addictive but I'm not sure I liked the anime/comic style cutscenes. Unlike a lot of people, I love Hideo's long-windedness.

Super Mario Bros 3 on Super Mario All-Stars. Somehow, as a huge Mario fan, i've never actually beat this game.

Nice! You can't go wrong with Super Mario All-Stars. I've always wanted to try and finish The Lost Levels, but it gets so frustrating later on.

The only Mario games I ever actually legitly finished all the way through were Super Mario World and Super Mario 64. The NES and SNES era ones are my absolute favorite though, I've played them so many times they are still so much fun to this day.

And no, beating SMB3 with the help of the whistles doesn't count! haha

You know what's funny is..I've beat LL multiple times..and trying to play the American SMB2...i feel like that's actually harder than LL..which is ironic, given that the reason they didn't release LL here initially was it was percieved as too hard

I've beat World more times than I care to count. 64, too. Both are AMAZING games..prolly in my top 5 of all time

And i'm not using the whistles for my first run through of 3. I'm on World 7, which has parts that are mind-numbingly frustrating
