I've been on my fourth Diablo II kick for a week or so. It's sort of a new experience for me because I've never had the expansion before. Also, I'm going without Battle.net for the first time since I started playing ten years ago.

crysis 2
It's super tight, surprised by how good it is actually. Wish it had more guns and turret sequences. |
Quake II right now

i like em, they're always very cinematic

They tend to limit you too much. What if I don't want to use the turret?
They're dumb. Played From Dust all day. Amazing game. |
Crysis 2 was good, but I personally found it lacking. It's hard to point out exactly why, but I felt it lacked entertainment value. I didn't find the game very intriguing and actually felt I had more fun in the first game. The CryEngine is a beautiful piece of work, though.

Speaking of the CryEngine, I just picked up this game again. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._cover_art.jpg I had just read a rather interesting article about how the game's lack of options was itself a narrative device, showcasing the idea that choice and morality are nothing but 1st world luxuries that do not exist in this situation. It made me rethink my previous opinion on the game, and while I'm sure I'll still be frustrated by some of the gameplay features (like being shot at by people on my side of the conflict because programming friendly AI is too hard for Ubisoft), I still think it's an interesting and sophisticated narrative device that deserves my own interpretation. Plus I get to run over zebras. |
I've been playing From Dust quite a bit lately. It's a pretty cool concept for a game.
Also, I've been playing Crackdown 2 and Alan Wake. Might throw in a little Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts soon. |

at first glance you'd guess it was a Minecraft ripoff, and with some things it is, but as you progress, the game gets more focused on RPG elements like NPC towns, magic/mana use, battling monsters and leveling up rather than building and crafting. |
infamous 2. It's pretty good, very similiar to the first but the graphics are superb
|
|
So I just checked out some info on Diablo 3. That game looks amazing, I played the ones prior a bit but this looks great.

Map of Cyrodil & Shivering Isles.
Steelbook Case Short Making-Of Documentary DVD Disc with Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles 10 Dollar Rebate if you buy Skyrim and a Skyrim guide. Also, I played the Driver demo. Not liking it that much. |

The whole time limit on things and the wild handling on the cars. I finally finished off Uncharted 2 and I'm getting pretty close to finishing Infamous 2. There is so much replay value in Infamous 2 with the UGC though that after I beat the side missions and story lines. I'm going to take a break from it then play it another time to hit up some of the better created ones. I'm in the middle of like four other games as well, Duke Nukem Forever, Fallout New Vegas, Arkham Asylum and L.A. Noire. |
haven't really gotten any new games
switching over to a 360 soon, I suppose |

Yeah. I actually discovered it by accident. I was looking for a steampunk game similar to Arcanum and someone mentioned Torment. I don't see how it is a steampunk game, but it's still pretty great
|
You get it from GOG?
|
To my shame, I recently pirated Oblivion for the PC. I grew toabsolutely hat it on the Xbox, but the mods I've seen actually make it look good. Sadly, I've discovered that they don't, so I'll wipe the game and restore my karma when I get the chance.

I just finished replaying Super Metroid with my friend. Still amazing. |
Meh, the combat's ugly and repetitive even with Deadly Reflex, the story's terrible in vanilla and I'm too much of a Bethesda fanboy to change it to an unofficial story, the voice acting is actually a million times better with mods but it's still pretty bad, all the visual packs in the world can't redeem the gaudy and horrible graphics, and the one thing that made the game so utterly brilliant (the massive world to explore) isn't any good for me any more because, well, I've explored it all. I'll just carry on playing Morrowind instead. Let's see if I can put another 100 hours into it over the next couple of months.

I've been playing some Morrowind lately, partly in anticipation for Skyrim. Made a Redguard, named him Jonas after jonas in Fallout 3 (racism lol). I'd probably play Oblivion too, but I feel like I've exhausted almost everything that game has to offer, and I'm too lazy/incompetent to install mods.
I've also been thinking about going back to Starcraft 2, maybe redoing the campaign and then moving on to multiplayer. Have to fit in all the gaming I can before school starts... |

I recently got it, but haven't actually played it yet.

was actually thinking of pulling a prank this morning by trying to jokingly rob somebody with a PS2 lightgun

GL, HF getting shot.

Toy Soldiers 2. It's very entertaining. Much better than the first one.
|
So I heard that there's this game called 'More Wind' or something, that works better with mods. I decided to reinstall my local copy with a clean slate so that I could actually get some mods to work on it, but... It's failed, completely. I hate computers.
