Well, I really hated the Cape Fear remake, but other than that.
Exactly. That's why it didn't blow me away. He can do films like this in his sleep. I really want Scorsese to do a fecked up psychological thriller/horror. That would be something.

I think it "The Departed" was just a good movie, with some great performances...they just gave it the oscars because they owed it to Marty...they even gathered all his buddies to give him his best director award

The Departed was the best thing he's done in years and it could have been a lot worse, Gangs of Noo Yoik could have got the oscar. blurgh

The latter two films of the Lord of the Rings trilogy were pretty sh*t I thought, especially if you grew up with the book. Certain effects sucked a lot at the time and they're even worse now. How long 'til there's a re-dux I wonder a la Star Wars in the 90's?

Also with regards to sword n' sandal epics, Braveheart is easily one of the worst films of all time. If you disagree stop poisoning my gene pool. Or watch Rob Roy, which ain't perfect but it's hella better and Mel Gib-cock free

Any of the parts where they try to render people always look terrible to me, even today I still don't think they've got that right.
The 'wargs' as well (I was annoyed they weren't giant wolves like in the book), there was a horrible sequence involving them in the second movie I think. I can't reel all the failures off because I haven't seen it in years; however in comparison the balrog and the giant spider looked fantastic, they looked alive.
I mean I saw the first two when they came out and 'the Two Towers' left such a bitter taste I refused to pay to see the third one!

"Two Towers" is my fav, but I have to mention the fact, that despite buying the book two years ago, I haven't read it yet...

Star Wars- overated tripe and don't even begin to argue with me-ANYONE! You will not change my mind on a film that is essentially a western in space.
