If you're saying that's a bad movie, you're out of your mind. Though if you're just saying it's a role where he can't stretch his comedic or dramatic wings, then I agree.

Not saying any of those movies are bad (I never even saw flubber), but if you've seen awakenings, fisher king and dead poets society, you'll understand the comparison.

I think he's really quite good at drama, his "feelings" usually come across as very sincere on screen. What fails for me in his movies is sometimes his comedy .. like his part in Baron Munchhausen which is that movie at it's most embarassing.

Mrs. Doubtfire is good, Flubber is horrible and Bicentennial Man is just ok.

Mrs. Doubtfire is a classic! I've seen that movie so many times I've lost count.

Scrapbook gets my vote for underrated film. Jackhammer mentioned it in his horror thread some time back. The movie is somehow a combination of inspiring, empowering, beautiful, disgusting, and hard to watch. I'm pretty sure only Eric Stanze could make some of those scenes as tasteful as they are, and Emily Haack's acting is top notch. The movie was well recieved by some of the more underground critics and did well in film festivals, but the mainstream rejected the film.

I absolutely adore this movie! It's been years since I've seen it, but I recently bought it and have been meaning to watch it again soon. Great pick!

The subject matter would indeed turn people off it but the performances are astonishing. An excellent film.

I enjoyed both TFK and Timer Bandits. I love Robin Williams, I have never heard a negative comment about him until now. Awakenings was killer, but I also liked him in Doubtfire and Patch Adams. I think range of character is what makes a great actor and I think he shows that well. Bi....man on the other hand was just awful all around.

I absolutely loved this movie too, but I don't think it's underrated, even the packaging says it's a cult classic. Cort and Gordon were a great on screen pair, which made their situation A LOT less awkward than it could have been, and I loved the ending.. it really was beautiful. Plus a soundtrack of nothing but Cat Stevens? Can't argue with that!

I don't know if it's been mentioned before, or even if it's that underrated, but nonetheless...

^ Probably the best portrayal of alcoholism I've ever seen in a movie. Terrific film.
