I consider myself a nostalgic gamer though I've more experience with old computers than consoles from my childhood. There was the spectrum, my Commodore 64, Amstrad and eventually AMIGA 500 which were awesome. Of course there was Nintendo as well and I was ecstatic when I first got a super nes.

Anyways, many of those games are still fun and even though I've no longer got my old hardware, I've got loads of emulating software to help me reenjoy those old titles. Still - I have to say - if you go back far enough in the history of gaming, it doesn't take long before there's 100 bad games for every good one. Not everything was better before so nostalgia can be overrated too. I remember especially Commodore 64 had so many crap titles.

Bruce Lee kicked serious ass, though.

It's one of those old platform games that I still find entertaining to this day.

Haha. I don't remember that one but it totally made me think of Karateka, which I had for my Apple IIe.

.. You mean Day of the Tentacle?

Monkey Island 1 and 2 would definetly be up there towards the top of my personal list of most important games. Up until the rat, all my avatars where MI themed.

edit :

Some favourites would be Monkey Island 1 & 2 (of course), Day of the Tentacle, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and the two first Simon the Sorcerors. The two first MIs are at least a head and often a shoulder above the rest, though.

Haha yes, most certainly did. Fancy getting a game and a novel mixed up, when did they ever live happily side by side? It's unfortunate I missed your MI avatars, i'm sure they would have been unexpected! Can't beat the witty dialogue of Threepwood.

Not at all (see the past few pages of old Atari and computer games for example). Hell, I still have my Pitfall Atari cartridge, the only problem is I don't know how to hook my old 2600 up to a modern TV.

Bah. Why emulate when you have the real thing?
