DreamTheater 07-30-2010 12:09 PM

^ The Manchurian Candidate (1962).

Guess:

dankrsta 08-01-2010 08:15 AM

Is that The Party with Peter Sellers? Hilarious film, I haven't seen it in ages.

I never would have guesses the one above is Manchurian Candidate. I just forgot all about it.

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 08:58 AM

Yes it is :D
I love Blake Edwards' works.

dankrsta 08-01-2010 09:10 AM

this may be a bit to easy for this crowd

dankrsta 08-01-2010 11:21 AM

I must admit I have absolutely no idea what this is. It looks like some B movie or camp. Asian cowboys, psychedelic colors...if I saw it I'm sure I wouldn't have forgotten it.

Not that easy after all, at least not to me.

bob. 08-01-2010 11:32 AM

hmmm....it's a Thai western that came out in 2000...although i did not see it (in America) in the theater until 2006 or so....think if Argento made a spaghetti western in Thailand and spliced it with Gone With The Wind in super Technicolor

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 11:57 AM

I'm pretty sure I've seen that first picture somewhere.
Just a sec.

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 12:03 PM

Tears of the Black Tiger.
Still need to know why did I stumble on it some months ago.

bob. 08-01-2010 12:08 PM

'that's a bingo!"

if you have not seen it...it real is quite a display and attack of the senses

I've never heard of it until now but it looks really cool!

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 12:15 PM

It looks somehow breathtaking... from the pictures.

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 12:58 PM

Here's an all-time favourite:

Uuuuggghhhh!

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 01:57 PM

^Is that another word for "Hint?" xD

bob. 08-01-2010 02:15 PM

yes :(

i feel like i know it...but now i'm not so sure

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 02:20 PM

Hint: It's kind of an American Road-movie, shows a lot of the Western scenery. However, the director is European.

dankrsta 08-01-2010 05:38 PM

Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders. It took me a while to recognize Nastassja Kinski and connect the dots. I have to watch this film again, I have completely forgotten it.

bob. 08-01-2010 05:42 PM

i knew i would hate myself for not guessing this :)

Janszoon 08-01-2010 05:43 PM

You know, I've only seen one Wim Wenders movie, Until the End of the World, but it was so unbelievably bad that it's hard for me to imagine him making something worth watching. Would any of you say that Until the End of the World is just a terrible misstep from an otherwise great director or is it fairly indicative of what his movies are like?

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 05:50 PM

Definitely a misstep. I haven't watched it, but I know I LOVE Paris, Texas, and some of his other films.
I recommend you watch it... great acting by the legendary Harry Dean Stanton (a favourite of mine), and very heartfelt movie.

BINGO! obviously.

bob. 08-01-2010 05:57 PM

^ouch :)

yeah i've never seen any other of his films....and to be honest was shown Paris Texas years ago by a friend....

NumberNineDream 08-01-2010 05:58 PM

Everyone seems to have forgotten this movie after watching it :/ I thought it was pretty memorable.

dankrsta 08-01-2010 06:05 PM

I watched 4 Wenders films that I remember: Paris, Texas, The Sky Above Berlin, Until the End of the World and The Million Dollar Hotel, but I haven't watched them for quite a long time. For some reason I remember The Sky Above Berlin the best.

Guess
