MB's Video Game Classics Survivor: Final Vote
 

It came time to just end the MB's Video Game Classics because I saw that it was getting slightly stale. However, there's still one final thing to do. One more vote to find the definitive classic out of all the classics. We're going to do this much like the album survivor thread however much more relaxed. We're going to start taking away games from the list we've voted on, and we'll eventually find the numero uno out of the list. This game doesn't necessarily have to be good, it also doesn't have to be bad, but just for ****s and giggles, I want to see what the last man standing would be. Again, this is just for fun as the main part of this idea is done.

Again, I appreciate all the support feedback throughout and I'm excited to announce that there will be a second one coming. Not anytime soon but there will definitely be one.

You can pick and choose however many you want to have removed and once a game reaches at least 3 votes from a collective of people, that game will be removed. I'll try to keep the list updated as much as possible, but you'll have to just be patient in some cases.

No, because I don't enjoy being yelled at for liking the wrong games for a few months straight. Otherwise a fine job, Kiii.

Props for all of the time and work that you put into it Kiiii, but there really wasn't a pay off at the end. It was cool to reminisce about old video games that I used to play though.

It spammed the boards with **** that only 3-4 members care about.

skimming all these threads and seeing you say nothing positive about literally any of these games makes me have to ask what you play

Maybe skimming is the problem. I'm pretty sure I've talked plenty about games that are badass.

Love those games, especially Final Doom.

I've played Doom a million times over the years, along with a few of the best 90's shooters like Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Rise of the Triad and Descent.

Shadow Warrior's great, though I've only played through the first few levels.

I still need to try out Rise of the Triad at some point, I've heard that a lot of the stuff from that game was originally pitched for Doom.

It's a really fun game, but also an odd one. It's got a very arcadey vibe going on with point collection, extra lives and power ups, but also some other weird little mechanics, some of which you rarely see across those 40+ levels.

You can be shot with a net and cut yourself free with a knife. You can find a gas mask to protect you from toxic gas traps. There's some humorous "power-downs". Plus floating platforms and other little things other shooters didn't have. Lots of traps and environmental hazards. Way more than in other shooters. It's one of the thing that makes the game fun. The game feels like the developers just crammed in everything they could think of while having fun making the game. I love how it sometimes makes elevator trips longer and trolls you by playing muzak :laughing:

Assuming back in the day means the PS2 games?

I used to not click with the series actually. Armored Core 5 was so good it made me retroactively like all of the older games. Now I'm even trying to get my hands on the original Playstation 1 game.
