WHY I DON'T LIKE DEADMAU5 MUCH ANYMORE.

I'd just like to get facts straight. I love Joels old work. But his new stuff is no where near filthy enough for me.

this is excellent, it gets really ****ing annoying around 2:43 though. That noise is a pain in the balls. But around 4:02 it gets really interesting again.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUT

He's no imagination. I like his tunes, aye sure. But I'm not sure he would be good live. Infact I think he would be quite balls. I don't think half the people who know him would know him without the mau5 head. People think it's cool and stuff. Words can't fathom how gutted I'd be if he had a wee bit of creativity about him 'cause I sold my T in the Park ticket and he was announced, but I'm not fussed because he doesn't possess such a trait

his music is completely different to what it used to be. He's changed his target audience. I'm 100% sure that he used to do stuff the way he wanted and now he's pretty much changed his sound to be more "commercial" I hink he would be amazing live tops of once. But I'd never go see him twice. I'd just be paying to see the same show again. I'm a true fan of his old stuff, just not the new stuff. It just doesn't appeal to me anymore. He's doing what pleases others and I don't like it. He sounds "safe".

I found many more. But the guys just so damn predictable. I'm just sayin' he should open with a good tune once in a while. Infact, not even a good tune, just a ****ing different one. Opinions pretty please?

I completely agree. His music is as mindless as Tiesto's and Armin van Buuren's. Back in the day it seemed everyone was doing their own thing, but now it's like everyone is barely recognizable. They're making, like, Pseudoelectrohousetrance. It just sounds so obviously commercial that I hate it. Luckily there's a lot of more underground musicians who are staying true to their roots. But then again some people, like Ferry Corsten, haven't changed much at all. His sound is a bit more refined, but still similar to what he's been involved with for awhile. I do find solace in older tracks though. I'm not sure if you're a fan of Progressive stuff, but if you are, you need to get as many of Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise albums as you possibly can. That is if you don't have them already.

I've started to notice more and more seksi electronic beats on the radio, and in chart lists.

I don't know wither to enjoy this or be sickened. On one hand I love the fact that some songs with immense basslines are playing and on the other I don't know wither to like it due to the fact I'm getting sickened off great songs.

A few examples for instance... these are considerably brilliant songs. Especially for the radio. But I was introduced to them through the radio. When I wouldn't consider them popish at all really.

I've noticed it most with those songs. But I really like "HELLO" and "BASS DOWN LOW". Has anyone else noticed it with any other types of music and I'm just noticing it because Electronica is my favourite Genre, or is Electronica just the next thing?

Electronica has been the next big thing for the past 3 years or so and it's continuing down that route.

All genres are adopting and fusing it in some way from R&B artists to Hip Hop artists.

So to answer your question, yes it's becoming Pop at the moment because that's what the radio is playing, it's popular and people seem to want to hear more of it.

Electronica was the big thing in the early 90s, IIRC.

As dj said, its been getting more mainstream coverage for a few years now, and its mostly due to hip hop music. I blame it all pretty much on Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta. It wouldnt be so bad if they were doing something original, rather than rehashing old European style music for a new generation who have no idea that they are being spoon fed rip offs.

Exhibit A: See if you can notice the 1992 released song on the right at all in the David Guetta remix...

Seek Bromance is probably the best of those for me. I don't really listen to music on the radio so I don't know what they play. Electronica (defined quite broadly I suppose) has influenced things beyond lesser known indie, electronica dance music has I would guess been mainstream before but maybe not so much recently then? Gaga has maybe been part of this dance sound as well. For more general electronica Sufjan Stevens did an album recently, Kate Bush did an ambient style remake of This Woman's Work. Synth pop in general has made a comeback over the last few years, though it isn't always dance music.

So has new wave. Personally I'm preferring the electronic element to pop music now. Although In reference to the Black Eyed Peas they are absolutely crucifying it. It's revolting. The 'Don't Stop The Party' song is butchered by their lyrics/vocals. The track behind it is sick.
