Ok, that was just what I inferred when you brought up other subgenres as if their existence disproved how diverse post hardcore is. That diversity is my key point in saying that there isn't a defined sound to the genre. Can you find similarities between different post hardcore artists? Obviously, but that doesn't mean that all post hardcore artists have a definitive link.

So atmospheric. So much emotional depth. Not aggressive like hardcore or anything.

One can say the same about other bands, though, since many bands have a "signature sound" whether or not they fall under multiple categories. I guess a good example is the distinctions between Sex Pistols and Ramones, specifically their debuts. Both are plain punk, but it's easy to tell them apart.

My reason for that album's low rating was because it was really dull and lifeless. I don't think I really even considered them post-hardcore when I listened to it but it does have some elements of it.

Alright, I'm not going through ten pages (at least not all at once), but I'd just like to know if you had any recs for some heavier post-hardcore for someone who digs post-hardcore metalcore like Snapcase and Poison the Well, and screamo like Orchid and Pg. 99?

I dig me some Unsane, but I'm looking for something other than really good noise rock (I'm already learning that the Jesus Lizard is abso-****ing-lutely amazing).

I'm sure you've heard Circle Takes the Square? If not, definitely them. Also, Mondo recced this band Flourishing that I'm sure you'd dig. They've got a lot of Tech Death elements as well.

Like Frownland said, Unsane is up your alley. Also try Daniel Striped Tiger, they've got a little powerviolence influence and just sound amazing.
