That's because they are good not becuase they are commercial. And that isn't really a huge deal, they have been around for nearly 20 years and they are talented it's not a big deal that they 'broke 100' a few times.

And this is in German charts is it not? Germany doesn't have giant corporate music markets like we do (not as big that is), in the US almost no one has heard of them.

You're confusing being recognised with being corporate, they aren't one in the same.
