Please don't hold my toes to the fire, but I thought for a organization like the NFL that is promoting the game of football as a family experience I thought the halftime show was sexually charged with the dance routines that went on and there are numerous other performers that would have been a better choice. Just my opinion she is a wonderful person and should highlight her talents in a less suggestive way......
I actually thought that she did a good halftime show myself. She put on a good show and wasn't really too provocative imo. The super bowl is meant to be a larger than life event and nobody want to see some chick stand up there and just sing depressing songs the whole time. They want an entertainer and I thought she lived up to the expectations they had in mind when they gave her the invite.

Exactly, I think they knew what she was bring to the table. Which was something crazy.
I highly doubt many people had this same opinion and were just like "UGH beyonce."

Actually, I read that this year, last year and I think one other were the only years that the half time show had a higher viewer count than the game itself. So if that doesn't say something, I don't know.

What does her attractiveness have to do with how well she performed?

Personally I thought her halftime show was boring and thought Madonna did a much better job last year. I am not a huge Madonna fan but she did alot of innovative and creative things with her performance and had alot of different things going on. I also agree Beyonces performance was to overly explicit and the NFL even received complaints.

I wouldnt define what Beyonce does as "dancing".

Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Paul Abdul, Bobby Brown etc dances. All Beyonce does is toss her weave and shake her ass and if you think thats real talent than you honestly dont know what talent is.

May as well censor your kids from the violence in the game as well! Looks like they can't watch it at all! They also can't watch Go Daddy Commercials, any beer commercials, that Best Buy Commercial, and most of the other ones on the breaks during the game, so they can pretty much only watch the commentary or listen to the game on the radio. They also can't watch Spongebob, Disney movies, or almost any cartoon.

Censorship is ridiculous and you are ridiculous and Beyonce is better than you
Well everyone is entitled to their opinion but lets not act like Beyonceis God here lol

Beyonces halftime show actually received very low ratings and you can even google it.

Madonna still has the best viewership of a half time show of all time and I believe Michael Jackson is not too far behind her.

Its funny how this same country that bashed Janet Jackson for a barely noticable boob in 2004 finds no issue with a more sexually charged 2013 Superbowl performance. America is very hyprocritical LOL

The thing about Beyonce is, she can sing and is a descent performer (at times) but she is not a real artist. She does not write, produce or contribute in anyway in her music process or songs. She also has a very weak forgettable catalogue. To me she is not a "artist" she is just a media star that has a million dollar backing and marketing machine. There are much better singers and artists.

Is it me, or was she hotter back when she was on destiny's child?

where did the booty go?

as a singer she's not bad but her voice is not that spectacular but she has good taste in making songs and she's a great entertainer

I just read what you said here and honestly I think it's all bull**** and doesn't deserve a long response.
I know what talent is, she's an amazing singer, you don't know what you're talking about.
When I look up the "ratings," I see that it fell short of Madonna's ratings but not that they were horribly low.

I hate to bring up the "your opinion vs mine" argument but simply because you dislike or do not respect an artist, they do not automatically become poor artists. Many people love her, many people listen to her, and she has a huge following. She doesn't write her own songs but she has co-written some other songs as well as put a lot of work into performances.

Well I think it did warrant a long response since you attacked another poster who seemed rational and mature in their response. You attacked them because you did not agree with them whether my response is long or short its MY opinion and I am entitled to have. Just because you like Beyonce does not give you the right to dictate other peoples posts or opinions on her.

Everybody does not have to like Beyonce or is required to. Her halftime ratings was low and actually 5 million people tuned out in the middle of the performance which is contrary to what the media was saying the next day. U2, Madonna and Michael Jackson had higher halftime ratings so contrary to what the media was saying her halftime was very low.

I dont even consider Beyonce an "artist". She is a media star with a corporate backing. She doesnt write or produce any of her songs and she steals songwriting credits. I also dont think she is as good of a performer as people make her out to be. She takes alot of Tina Turner stage persona, is not creative, does overly sexual movements (which is not dancing) and screams alot. She comes out with some of the most generic immature weak pop songs ever. Her popularity is mostly due to image and marketing. There are also alot of people that feel the same way as I do.

Adele, Chrisette Michelle, Jennifer Hudson, Melanie Fionna, Amy Whinehouse are better singers just to name a few

If you like her thats cool, I am not trying to change your opinion. I just thought it was rude and uncalled for how you bashed the other poster just because you disagreed with their opinion

My response was angry because I think it's really off that someone attacks Beyonce for being too sexual during the half-time show when so many of the commercials and ads are mainly about sex. And that it isn't appropriate for kids to watch even though the sport is so violent.

I think to say she's prancing around on stage is incorrect, that's not an opinion. If you're a choreographer and a dancer, as I have been, you look at what she can do with her body. Dancing is sexual, dancing is dangerous, everything about her exudes sex, even if she were to dance less suggestive moves.

And I don't think she depends on her moves to show her talent. That's why the President asks her to perform, because her voice is enough, she can stand there and really sing a song.

If you disagree, fine, but I felt that there was a lot of underlying sexism in the post and I had to call it out. To me it was disrespectful and I responded to it as necessary.

Well the poster was not attacking her You took it as that because you are a fan. The poster was just giving their opinion that I actually think is true. Her halftime show was overly sexual. It does not matter that there are more provocative things. The fact of the matter is her performance was still overly explicit for a family spetacle that is viewed by millions of families around the world. I actually was surprised it did not get more negative reviews since the media made such as big deal about Janet Jacksons half time show in 04 for a barely noticable boob. I thought Beyonces performance was more sexually explicit.

I dance as well and have done tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, mime, liturgical, hip hop etc and what Beyonce does is NOT dancing lol She does not do technical intricate choregraphy. She does alot of interactive crowd movements, she strunts, shakes her hair and behind but that technially is not dancing.

All dancing is not sexual

Janet Jackson.... DANCES and the type of dancing that she did during her prime was not sexual it was technique (Modern, Jazz, Militant etc)

I think Beyonce is a talented singer but boring (not spetacular, unique and range is quite limited) but make no mistake about it... She greatly depends on her image which she markets as "overly sexual" because if she didnt she would not pose on magazine covers in underwear or half naked if she didnt depend on it.

The president asked Beyonce to perform at the Inaugration because she raised money for his campaign. He could have asked anybody to sing the song. That arrangement has nothing to do with her "voice" specifically.

You can disagree and express yourself but name calling is unnessary which you did to the poster simply because you disagreed.
