Haha wtf how have I not heard this before?

Mrd00d 11-12-2011 04:27 PM

I don't know but those are my two favorites from that one, though Clipse had a good one with Lost Woods, and I liked Pimp C or whatever the name on Hyrule Field, but don't listen to them otherwise.

Get excited:

Sad there was no Aesop on Vinyl Fantasy 7...

I think it's called Air. That's really all I know...

VirginiaSlim 11-13-2011 02:27 PM

If I would have posted in this thread a few years earlier, I would have said Kanye West but he is somewhat falling off in my opinion.I am personally fond of Lupe Fiasco. He talks about some real deal political type subject matters, while still keeping it funky.

i won't aplogize for suggesting you take some time to actually contribute to this forum, as opposed to first trying to market/network yourself and then continuing to post inane threads with little to no thought at all. It's a joke that you're even still around, just as it's a joke that the mods see fit to let you clutter the boards with this until they decide enough is enough.

Wugazi - "13 Chambers"

Obviously a mashup between Wu-Tang and Fugazi... GREAT album.

airamb 11-30-2011 10:47 PM

Those are great, really had a meaning.

prefer the Wu/Hendrix mixtape.

Goofle 12-05-2011 09:26 AM

No way. I think this is mixed better and the music works together in a more concise fashion. Also, the individual verses are a better selection.

I am annoyed that "Shame on a N*****" and "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' to **** Wit" aren't used in "Wugazi" though.

Thom Yorke 12-08-2011 09:20 PM

Arrhythmia - Anti-Pop Consortium I have no idea why it's taken me so long to hear this album. Instantly one of my favourite hip hop albums I've heard.

Mrd00d 12-08-2011 09:36 PM

That Ping Pong track (The return!) is awesome isn't it?

Thom Yorke 12-08-2011 09:44 PM

For sure. One of the better beats I've heard in a long time. And I'm really digging those random animal noises on Mega. The producing on this album is incredible.

Samm 12-10-2011 12:57 PM

So I just recently started listening to southern rap, and by far my favorite group I've heard is the early three 6 mafia. Anyone know of more like them?

examples of songs I like

three 6 mafia - Long Nite - Mystic Stylez - YouTube

Three 6 Mafia - Da Summa - YouTube

Koopsta Knicca - Robbers - YouTube

Bane of your existence 12-17-2011 05:33 PM

Mediocre rapping, but I'm really digging the instrumental.

Greatseb 01-02-2012 03:08 AM

you'll loved this. ;) not a big YMCMB fan.. but love some of their work.

Birdman - Y.U. MAD ft. Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne

Brand new

moserw 01-02-2012 05:29 AM

Don't listen to rap or hip-hop much these days... but these are from my collection.

Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Salt N Pepa, Beastie Boys, Black Eyes Peas (love them), Dr. Dre, Run DMC, Public Enemy, Lil Wayne & Timbaland.

Mrd00d 01-02-2012 05:22 PM

Amp Live serves each dude a custom beat that suits them best. Eligh drops a fire verse. Grouch and Zumbi do pretty good too. Just gotta get through Evidence...

Franco Pepe Kalle 01-06-2012 07:51 PM

GOOD DAY by My the best classic rapper ICE CUBE.

I feel 100% the same. I just can't like Evidence.

Metal Connoisseur 01-14-2012 06:43 AM

I've heard ASAP Rocky's debut described as the swag-rap generation's version of Game's Documentary due in large part to the production of Clams Casino, I know ASAP might not appeal to everyone, but Live Love Asap hasn't left my car for the past week.

I've also been listening to some Danny Brown; he has a manic flow and delivery not unlike ODB. Gotta love Black Milk too

Goofle 01-14-2012 08:24 AM

Danny Brown is my man. Love pretty much everything he has done.

Listened to some more Kendrick Lamar yesterday and Elmatic by Elzhi. Highly enjoyable.

Mrd00d 01-14-2012 02:33 PM

I got that Black and Brown tape before I heard XXX and almost discredited Danny. I hated Black and Brown. Well, it's just that I couldn't relate and nothing grabbed me on two listen throughs. I had to delete it. I seen you upping XXX so I figured I'd give D.B. one more shot (not to mention Aesop Rock really likes dude) and it was MUCH better, but still not something I can relate with or find myself enjoying.

Phantom Limb 01-14-2012 02:51 PM

Danny Brown is ok. I really liked him after I heard XXX for the first time, but then I started to realize as time went on that he's been flowing the same on EVERY SINGLE SONG HE HAS DONE SINCE THEN. Seriously, the exact same. He needs to switch it up hardcore if he wants to stay in the game. Also, he kinda lacks in the content department. I gave him a free pass for that as well after hearing this song:

In retrospect I think it's just cause it bangs so hard.

He definitely has some iffy lines on this one, and that's saying a lot considering it's one of his better songs.

"Ready to hit the studio and **** all on your mixtape,
No literally, **** all on your mixtape,
Wipe with the credit sleeve,
Stains on the gel case..."

"And your style's like fried chicken without the seasoning,
Nigga that's bland..."

Metal Connoisseur 01-15-2012 05:38 AM

I can understand criticism towards Danny's lyrical content, it isn't awful but it's not great either. I've always thought that if he employed more of a non sequitur style to his lyrics it would match his manic flow perfectly.

Any thoughts on the new ASAP?

Goofle 01-15-2012 06:04 AM

DL link?

Metal Connoisseur 01-17-2012 04:29 AM

Enjoy

A$AP Rocky - LiveLoveA$AP-2011-MIXFIEND

Goofle 01-17-2012 08:35 AM

Ahh, I thought you meant 2012 kind of new.

Listened to that a few times and really love the sound of it, even if ASAP is a pretty ****ty rapper.

Agreed. Rocky's rhymes are pretty generic swag-rap cliches but the beats mixed with his delivery make the album better on the whole.
