Best thing from the UK I heard in 2012, the flow is ridiculously catchy and succinct. From 2:40 it's ****ed.

BIG H 'VERSUS' DARQ E FREAKER - HADES 2012/06/18 - YouTube

Starts at 49 seconds, tediously long intro.

Sparky 01-02-2013 02:56 PM

I feel like i spend so much time on the internet i don't know why i don't see that record mentioned anywhere.

Blarobbarg 01-02-2013 04:30 PM

I heard that album recently as well. It was really, really, really good. I'm shocked I haven't seen it on more year-end lists.

Arts the Beatdoctor
Little People (Mickey Mouse Operation is the more relevant album)

FrigginParadox 01-08-2013 03:24 PM

In addition to this, there's Sound Surroundings by Dutch instrumental hip hop crew The Q4, fronted by Arts. Nigga who asked for this might want to check it out.

joshuan12 01-11-2013 12:24 AM

Does anyone have some artists similar to Immortal Technique, Vinnie Paz, Jedi Mind Tricks, Atmosphere, Eyedea, or MF Doom?

Try Lowkey and Black the Ripper, although they do get a bit "aren't we clever?" after a bit. Some of Lowkey's tunes just make me think "fucking hell, give it a rest mate."

**CLASSIC** Black The Ripper - My Lyrics Are Forever (OFFICIAL VIDEO) - YouTube

I don't know what tracks to recommend with Lowkey but just type his name into Youtube and give a few a listen. He's done a lot of work with Immortal Technique.

Frownland 01-11-2013 10:18 PM

Any good suggestions for someone like Billy Woods' "History Will Absolve Me"? I've been liking that one quite a bit lately and would like some other artists like that.

EDIT: Thousandth post! :yeah:

lol, that one song is the jam, but he's not above Lil B in any respect for what he does.

Thank you, all 3 sound dope. Just what I was looking for.

@peace

I'm always on the look out for artists offering new original material.

I recommend all rap/hip hop listeners have a listen to "@peace". Released in 2011 it is a 9 track collab album offering a fresh original beat that is ridiculously smooth, flicking a switch inside that make you're breathing slow and body bop to the flow. Beautiful beats obviously made with a lot of creative thought mixed with lyrics founded on social and political consciousness, not opinionated just aware and asking why and one quite provoking track on our existence(The track dubbed "nothing" is obviously recorded straight after indulging in around 10 joints). Find the tracks on you tube and I believe you can find the album on spotify. Hope you enjoy.

I couldn't post URL's because i'm still a music banter grommit :( ha.

Sparky 01-15-2013 05:11 PM

this might sound crazy but i don't even know where to look for dark e freaker, no wiki, no bandcamp page nothing. I like his cuts on youtube though

Clutch 01-15-2013 05:15 PM

Hey. I'm not much into rap but I really like The Gorillaz. Have any recommendations

Surell 01-15-2013 05:17 PM

MF Doom was on "November Has Come" and he's about as laid back there as per usual.

Yep, he is absolutely fucked. Look for Oil Gang and No Hats No Hoods record labels. I think they have bandcamps. Darq E just released an EP called 924 EP and I believe it is on iTunes now.

Did you see that video I posted a few pages back?

BIG H 'VERSUS' DARQ E FREAKER - HADES 2012/06/18 - YouTube

That beat is amazing ^

Darq E Freaker - ROAR by BoogalooCity on SoundCloud - Hear the world

Check that too ^

I've got a few of his beats on my hard drive I think if you want me to up them and send them.

Sparky 01-15-2013 05:30 PM

PM sent.

I can probably get the EP if you don't want to buy it also.

The reason his stuff is hard to find, is because he is affiliated/works in Grime circles and they are not the most professional with releasing music.

Worth checking out Tempa T - Next Hype (his biggest track) on Youtube too and Slew Dem's music in general if you like Darq E.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmyx9-RcLhQ

That's good too ^

Sparky 01-15-2013 05:44 PM

cheer's brah!

FrigginParadox 01-16-2013 06:46 PM

Watch the Duck is a cross over hip hop/electronica artist that just blows me away. Their song "Poppin Off" is such a great dance track. When I heard "Reactivated," I just realized that they're just really good at making party tracks. The mixtape (Black Music on Molly) is so dope.

Any recommendations on any hip hop artists that sound like Billy Woods? So basically raw hip hop

Also relatively new, no old school. Not in the mood for that
