I agree he is talented and can do good things for rap. But his live show was all about fireworks and jumping around on stage. Personally, id rather listen to his Cd then see him live. He just didnt sound very good. But thats my opinion...

sillysillymary 04-21-2011 10:38 AM

Also- im not a huge rap fan so i probably miss the details that you all notice that set him apart in your eyes

Bison11 04-22-2011 01:51 PM

Anyone see the Coachella set of his? You can watch it for free on the internet (I think I saw it at IllRoots.com

He puts on one hell of a show

Here is the link to watch the show:

thought you guys would like this-- many of the samples that Kanye has used to make his music. (it says EVERY sample, but this is untrue as there are a couple glaring omissions)

Note Noted.com 10-19-2011 10:51 PM

I wonder what the Watch The Throne tour is going to be like with Jay-Z? Is anyone going to go?

HAHAHAHAA that Kanye sample video is awesome. Every single banger is taken from elsewhere. It's so true how music is just regurgitated over and over. Gotta love it....infinite loop.

Holy...

If that tour comes anywhere near me, I'm going. I've wanted to see Kanye and Jay live for a very long time, and hopefully they'll both do some solo singles up there as well.

Adobe 10-26-2011 10:07 AM

lol kanye

Howard the Duck 10-27-2011 01:58 AM

lovin' him by every album I get from him

just got Watch the Throne but haven't spun it yet

bungto 10-28-2011 08:24 PM

he's very stupid.I don't want to listen his music

birdman 11-19-2011 08:51 AM

I was disappointed by the Watch the Throne CD. However, his beautiful dark and twisted fantasy CD was incredible!

Goofle 11-19-2011 09:26 AM

Kanye is an incredible artist. Like pretty much everything he has done, but "Watch the Throne" was dire.

Howard the Duck 11-27-2011 03:01 AM

just got 808s and Heartbreak and Graduation but haven't spun them yet

Goofle 11-27-2011 07:06 AM

808's is a bit weak tbh. Graduation is quality.

Unrelenting 11-28-2011 11:25 AM

I dunno, I enjoyed 808s. The production is top notch.

Above 11-28-2011 03:38 PM

The College Dropout and Late Registration are such great albums.

Alexthe4th 11-28-2011 07:13 PM

I like him, despite him.

Howard the Duck 03-20-2012 09:30 AM

^^i think by working with him, you mean downloading one of his tracks, and adding a few cymbal tisses here and there

Deviouz 03-28-2012 04:57 AM

Not really into Ye as of late, but Late Registration is a classic!

i now look like a total tosspot for having responded to a spammer

i should have quoted him/her

SLC 03-28-2012 03:23 PM

the amount of music kanye makes is ridiculous, my beautiful dark twisted fantasy was a good album... did you see the 30 minute music video he done for that album?? for him to be touring with Jay would be ridiculous to go n see! College dropout still a classic album

Sparky 04-22-2012 01:21 PM

he's back with the weekly good music stuff.
I like what he's put out so far

Q-Tip is with them as well now, so im excited

Surell 04-23-2012 03:47 PM

What the hell is with 2 Chains?

Goofle 04-23-2012 04:14 PM

its a good question lol

i keep getting him confused with future

dreads and shades are kinda a prerequisite to being a new rapper

Surell 04-23-2012 08:00 PM

"If I wasn't rappin, I would be trappin
if I wasn't trappin, I would be pimpin
If I wasn't pimpin, I'd just be getting it"

I'm making a Aristotle version of this:

"If I was A, I'd always be A
if I wasn't A, I'd never be A
If I was A sometimes, I wouldn't be others"

At least now it has some merit beyond a Dick and Jane book.

Sparky 04-23-2012 09:27 PM

It's interesting, I was just noticing some of the Aristotle influence on 2chainz lyrics the other day

take for instance,
Quote:

He who is unable to live in society, or who has no need because he is sufficient for himself, must be either a beast or a god.
It reads eerily familiar to some of 2chainz supposed "original" matireal
Quote:

I'm riding round I'm gettin it, I'm riding round I'm gettin it
I'm riding round I'm gettin it, it's mine I spend it.
I'm riding round I'm gettin it, I'm riding round I'm gettin it
I'm riding round I'm gettin it, it's mine I spend it.
It's mine I spend it, it's mine I spend it.
It's mine I spend it,
I'm riding round I'm gettin it, it's mine I spend it.
It's mine I spend it, it's mine I spend it.
I'm riding round I'm gettin it.

Surell 04-23-2012 09:40 PM

Lil Wayne has made similar allegations:

"I'm a beast, I'm a dog, I'm a motherloving problem
Ok you're a goon but what's a goon to a goblin?"

We all know that those old timey philosopher times aren't actually dead. Tupac really was Machiavelli, and apparently Aristotle ghostwrites for mainstream gangsta rappers, and probably throws his name into conversations randomly to stay relevant.

Sparky 04-23-2012 09:50 PM

Surrell, it's fortunate to know others exist who realize this stuff bro

I was at young joc's album release party the other night, and this old ass white dude in a gown wouldn't stop talking shit about how he could freestyle better than all of us and how everybody has been biting his swag for centuries and whatknot. Dude was clearly drunk off his rocker, nobody really paid him much attention.

At the time i was thinking tho, "this muthafucka look just like aristotle?!?", wellp, now it all makes sense i guess.

Surell 04-24-2012 06:49 PM

Well, I wouldn't put it past Gandolf either, or Merlin. Did this guy have kind of a tan, some curls in his weave?

Sparky 04-24-2012 08:50 PM

Gandolf was there reppin White Council Mob.

I think the person i saw might have been the physical manifestation of bboy essence, if im speaking honestly. He would just bust a move unlike any human body could withstand.

Surell 04-25-2012 07:31 PM

Sounds like he was on that Bodhisattva shit. But I'm not familiar with such a being. I'll be sure to mention it to the Ancient Rapper Committee.

Sparky 05-01-2012 10:03 PM

Frownland 05-01-2012 10:12 PM

Kanye West is a gay fish.

Engine 05-02-2012 04:26 PM

Check out 1:00 - 1:20

Actually watch all of it then ya best protect ya neck, Sparky.

Sparky 05-02-2012 10:24 PM

eh i still like mine more

Surell 05-03-2012 06:02 PM

how meta.

brobair3 05-04-2012 10:32 AM

I actually haven't listened to any of his music since the song "stronger" was a hit. I'm surprised he isn't more popular.

sicksizza 05-05-2012 07:22 AM

His production skills have definitely improved. He's just gone from rapper to pop songwriter. Nothing wrong with that, but to say he's a lyricist now is a bit delusional.

taurusatwork 05-12-2012 04:06 AM

for me the best song of kanye west is the featuring with kate perry in e.t. !
