I love The Specials, but that's a lot of money, and I live in New York anyway. I suppose if I was that much of a fan I'd go anyway though.

There are some smokin' good musicians in the original Specials line up. I'm fortunate enough to have seen them quite a few times in their prime. Since their influence reached far beyond their short tenure as a band, it's nice for younger fans to get a chance to see why the Specials are uh,...special.

Age isn't a factor unless all of the Specials stopped playing music in 1983 and have to relearn their instruments.

The Mekons are from the same era and they're a lot better than they were in 1980. Elvis Costello is certainly no musical slouch.

If a player keeps up his chops there isn't any reason why he can't play well into his 60s or even his 70s.

I saw them at T in the Park and they're incredible live. Age hasn't affected them at all, they were on fire. Definitely worth going to see.

I got the free disc of their reunion tour in a Sunday paper a few weeks back and it was OK but with Jerry Dammers not involved it kinda felt a bit hollow to me.

Terry Hall seems a bit bored from the live shows they've been doing lately.

He has always had that disinterested demeanour since they began! He has benn diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

I was unsure when Is them on Jools Holland, but once you're there it's a great atmosphere and every night was great. Obviously not as good as it would have been back in the day but they were still great shows.
