Under the Northern Star is one of their best songs ever IMO, even if it isn't as heavy.

Yeah Northern Star is ****ing amazing.
Gods of War Arise is my fave.
the change at 2:53 is ****ing brilliant, it really hits with me for some reason. Don't know why, Just the ching-ching-ching riff is amazing.

anything Amon Amarth does is amazing. but you're right, its not as heavy as a bunch of there other songs on the album. but it has a really great concept which i enjoy.
