I thought audioslaves first album was pretty good. To say the least it at least had some memorable riffs from morello and Cornell has an incredible screaming voice.

And I completely agree, and I think any big Kyuss fan would agree as well. I mean Kyuss pretty much started that entire genre, and even if Homme wasnt in Queens their still wouldnt have existed without Kyuss. Their is a reason all those Doom/Stoner/Fuzz rock bands have Kyuss covers on their albums.

^^the only good thing i can say about Audioslave's debut is that the drum miking is incredible, otherwise it's hardly as good as either of the former bands

But what about Chris Cornells vocals?





He is my favorite singer so in my mind anything he does is incredibly good (even that 'scream' album he did)

I'm not much into nu-metal either (except for maybe Helmet, if one called them nu-metal) so listening to Audioslave is like something different too, at least for me anyhow.

I think Chris Cornell's voice, one of the best to ever grace the hard rock genre. I also think the Audioslave debut as a great album, the two albums after that were very poor though.

The problem that Chris Cornell faces, he knows he has a great voice and has therefore dabbled in material that is style and voice are not suited for like the RATM cover above and some of the lighter material of his solo stuff, kind of reminds me of Robert Plant in a way, despite being totally different voice wise, both believed their voices to be well suited to other music styles and pop....both were mistaken and should've stuck with what they are suited to.
