DAMN you an idiot. i stil havent shown you how LZ's career was bigger? 200 MILLION ALBUM SALES, 117.5 MILLION US SALES, 22 MILLION LZ IV ALBUMS SOLD IN US ALONE, 10 MILLION BOX SETS SOLD- BIGGEST IN THE US EVER, 1995- INDUCTED INTO ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME, 2005, GRAMMIES LIFE TIME ACHEIVEMENT AWARD, 120,000 FIRST WEEK SALES OF DVD, 8 ALBUMS IN TOP 100 BEST-SELLING ALBUMS OF ALL TIME, 3 TOP 10 ALBUMS AT ONE TIME. GnR nowhere near measure up to any of that. how many times do i have to wave these facts in your face until you understand. stop kidding yourself, its as blatant as day that LZ were bigger, end of story.

Why do you keep dodging my question about touring? And like I said, when YOU brought up LZ IV their biggest seller. AFD sold more albums in less time than LZ IV did. OF coarse LZ IV will have sold more albums overall than AFD since it came out ten years before it.
Its really basically math. Of coarse a band that has 10 albums is going to out sell a band with only 3 albums.

You do know that in the 6 years gnr toured they played in front of more people than zeppelin did in their 10 years?

The UYI tour broke all kind of records for touring and that is a fact.

Its ok stu, you have lost badly on all counts, ill take your not answering of my question your way of admiting you lost.
basically, IF and WHEN GnR match what LZ have acheived, we can discuss. right now this argument is pointless.

And you wonder why I have to repeat myself.
You love yelling about LZ IV, did you even comprehend what I said about that album?

You are the idiot, who cannot understand that a band with 10 albums is going to sell more than a band with only 3 album. You can do basic math right?
Let me break it down for you one more time since you are really slow.

LZ IV was released in 1971 and in 1990 it was only at 10m albums sold in the USA.

AFD was released in 1987 and in 1998 it reached 15m albums sold in the usa.

Can you do that math? The math is simple, It took LZ 19 years to sell 10m albums of IV, while it took gnr about 10 years to sell 15m copies of AFD.

So what does that tell you? In their peak gnr were bigger than LZ.
Why can't you understand that?

Like I have said at their peak gnr were bigger than LZ. You still have not given me LZs touring numbers. I have shown you how gnr played in front on the UYI tour yet you cant even prove that zep was bigger by showing me their touring numbers until you do that, you have no leg to stand on. All you can do is spew off albums sales.

I am not going to even argue because you have no proven a thing.
You have just proven that with double the albums and about a 20 year head start LZ can sell more albums but even a child understands with a head start like that anyband is going to sell more albums.

This debate is not about who sold more albums overall, its about who was bigger at their peak and its clearly guns n roses.

You have lost, so just give it up. I am dont talking in circles since you cannot even answer a simple question nor give any more proof.

So I am done with you since I kicked your arse in this thread.

I think you should both give this up, this is obviously going in circles and not getting anywhere. This thread was actually meant for discussing GnR, not debating which band is bigger out of GnR and Led Zeppelin... Draven I dont see what youve got to be proud of, this thread has been pointless for the past 5 out of 7 pages.

you "kicked my arse" in a music forum...doesnt draven deserve a clap ladies and gents . (oh and btw, you didnt kick my arse, you merely believe you did)
when GnR have the lifetime acheivement award, have the second biggest albums sales to the beatles ever (biggest band since the beatles, point made) and could fill up all the worldwide arenas (not just the bloody US), then i'll settle for defeat.
until then, shut up, take notice of my aforesaid post and **** off.

Wow more swearing at me, that is great. That is real mature of you. Zep you really need to stop changing what the debate is about, since you have done this like 4 or 5 times already. The debate is what band was bigger at their peak. As for filling up the world wide area gnr did that, I already proved that. You do know that gnr are the only band ever to headline two rock n rios right? Also I already proved to you that gnr sold out around the world. OH I guess you forgot that post right?

Here it is again.

May 27th, 1992 - 75, 000 people at the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart, Germany.
June 21st, 1992 - The band flies to Basel, Switzerland.
Another sold-out show at the 50,000 capacity St Jakob Stadium in Basel, Switzerland.
June 27th, 1992 - Show in Turin, Italy at the Della Alpi Stadium in front of 65,000 fans.
June 3rd, 1992 -Hannover, Germany to play at the Niedersachsen Stadium in front of a crowd of 60,000.

November 25th, 1992 - Caracas, Venezuela. In the absence of a suitable venue, the show is played outside one in a parking lot in front of 45,000. The biggest show ever staged in Venezuela. (IE more people that LZ played in front of there)

Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv, Israel. Over 40 000 fans had gathered to see GN'R at the biggest concert held in Israel. (Again LZ never played in front of that many people in Israel)

June 12th, 1993 - Show in front of 31 000 at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm, Sweden
June 22nd, 1993 - Played in front of 50,000 at Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe, Germany.
July 8th, 1993 - Nancy, France for a show in front of 20,000 Zenith arena.
July 16th, 1993 - Play in front of 70,000 at River Plate Stadium.

So gnr didnt sell out areans around the world? Oh maybe you are right gnr sold out STADIUMS around the world.

Have a great day Stu.

Yeah gnr didnt sell out world wide arenas. Get a clue.
heh, and you accuse me of ducking the facts, still no lifetime acheivement awards, and still not the second best album selling band after the beatles. thats what this was about to me, arguing against your statement of "biggest band since the beatles". a peak isnt equal to being the biggest, its how long you can stay relevant and successful which equals that accolade. and ultimately, its about album sales- album sales reflect the true success of a band- not gig attendences, everyone else knows that but you. im well and truely finished with this thread. your quite predictable, i see another "again, youve been beaten blah your an idiot etc etc." post on the horizon. enjoy his reply guys.

Stu, I am sorry you are terrible at basic math and can not put two and two together, so I really won't even bother anymore. You can believe what ever you want but at gnrs peak and at LZs peak, gnr were just as big if not bigger. I have backed up all of that and then some, and you could not even refute it cept that LZ sold more albums than gnr and got life time achievement awards which really have nothing to do with how huge a band was during their touring career. I made the statement that in the early 90s gnr were the biggest band since the beatles, and what did you turn it into, oh LZ had a better career than gnr because they sold more albums.

You took something I said out of context and turning it into this debate.
The sad fact that you cannot seem to understand is, LZ put out more albums than gnr thus they sold more albums. You also never adress that fact because you know I am right. You also totally ignored the fact that gnrs debate album is the biggest selling ever by a rock band (more than LZs debate album) and I even showed how AFD sold more than LZ IV in half the time, something else you just ignore.

Which is fine because you are grasping at straws. I am willing to bet you will have another post after this one
