Metallica's seen their peek as a band, now their in it only for money. I haven't heard a song recently that was a good song. They've seen the top now they better make friends with the bottom.

Last year there was this "new song" floating around on youtube that wasn't all that bad to be honest. Some of the riffing reminded me a bit of the Load album but the structure had a fairly progressive feeling and the solo was pretty decent.

Just a little doubt. Why does Metallica seem to be the most popular metal band everywhere I go? I mean, yeah, I like them, one of the greatest thrash bands, with releases like Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets, (although they suck now), but they are really overrated, with people calling them the greatest metal band to have ever existed (a tall claim).

Another weird thing is that, the people who listen to the worst type of music are actually into Metallica alone. You ask them what bands they like, they usually name a lot of crappy bands...and Metallica.

Anyway, so what makes them famous? It could well have been Iron Maiden, or Dream Theater, or even Helloween, but its Metallica. The real reason I made this thread was because I recently talked to a chick who happened to say her favorite bands were Metallica, Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy...
