I think a lot of people take Metallica for granted because they are so popular. And St. Anger just wan't very good. Metallica without guitar solos was probably the worst thing they could have done.

I'm not saying it's a great album, it's probably still their worst, but it is definitely not as bad as people tend to say that it is.

a great document of self destructive behavior and chaos... but a not great document for the actual music. It is more fun watching "Some Kind of Monster" than it is listening to the "St. Anger" album.

St. Anger is bad. It deserves all the hate it gets.
