Whoever
invented rap can trip a fall in a ditch.
That's what pisses me off about music.

It's just her opinion, man. Of course, not everbody feels that way. She can still rant about it if she wants to though...

The thing is I'm about 98% sure she said that without hearing any hip hop outside of what's played on the radio.

Its good to know Radiohead albums can never get so much as a 4 star overall rating because there are too many old fogeys who think any new bands that don't follow the 70s prog sound to not be progressive in any way, because "progressive" clearly means ripping off Genesis for your entire career.

And so on the forums these guys rant about how Radiohead is just 'bland commercial radio alt rock", talk about how great Saga is and get all tard happy about that Kansas concert they're going to.

marry me? haha jk

anyways i hate metalheads, or anyone that restricts themselves to one genre, but metalheads usually grind my gears the most because they like to try to physically fight you if you question their reasoning

and also, even though its already been said, people who base music quality on technical proficiency... wait, that's 99% of metalheads

ok metalheads pretty much

lucifer_sam 08-17-2008 10:23 PM

jackhammer's a self-proclaimed metalhead and he's pretty reasonable. He could be part of the 1% though. I've met some pretty belligerent metalheads who hate on everybody, including fellow metalheads because they weren't hardcore enough.

What pisses me off more is twonks and psuedo-intellectuals who judge music based upon their perception of a band rather than its music.

dac 08-17-2008 10:38 PM

i've only met the belligerent ones

"Did you punks just say Kirk Hammett is a better guitarist than Marty Friedman?"

This is one of the biggest problems I have about indie fans.

Indie culture today from my perspective has just become this big race to find and praise the most obscure artists and albums possible, and quality seems to be irrelevant.

I know that by saying that, this big trap of mine is probably gonna get me in trouble again, but it's the only thing IMO that could possibly explain the popularity of Merzbow.
