I don't much care for a lot of 80s Scorpions. Too polished, too boring, too Klaus Meine. But 70s Scorpions shows promise. They had way more personality, and their singer was not nearly so irritating. Taken by Force is shaping up to be a pretty badass metal/hard rock album. And this song is kind of amazing.

If people were to think he's irritating, I wouldn't think that he's more so in the 80s when he's squealing up a storm on every album throughout the 70s while he softened up exponentially in the 80s. Unless this is what you're saying is cooler

I don't mind either way since I like it.

No, I think his more projected 80s singing lacks personality or emotion. I find that annoying.

Good stuff. Ironically though, one of their best songs of all time came out in 1993.

lol I remember that song. I had a comp with that on it and it was actually pretty alright as I remember. That comp kinda tricked me though, cause they generally have a few songs that I dig on a lot of their albums, but then I go and listen to the whole record and the rest is meh.

Agreed. The Scorpions were never great at crafting strong albums from start to finish, though they came close to AOR greatness on Lovedrive and Blackout, which are transition albums and balance their 70's + "what they'd do in the 80's" traits really well.

Pretty Maids were stellar in the late 80's. Surprised they never toured with Ozzy, Crimson Glory, etc.

Rick and Bay Cortez own Dark Realm Records in LA, the shop looks pretty cool. The band has been around for years but I only recently got into them:

So Sadistik Exekution is terrible (but with that super edgy 9th grade spelling, what would you expect) and Sadistic Intent was pretty cool - dug the old school vibe and slight vocal distortion.

This morning has consisted of a bunch of stuff but this was the highlight:
