I think they have a general reputation everywhere of never coming close to recapturing the magic of their debut album

I listened to Meir when it was newer and it just didn't have the soul

yup, first album is close to perfection and then after that they just kind of exist. i can still enjoy their later stuff, but the debut is one of a kind.

this is a combo of atmospheric black metal and metalcore that is super nice
