I'd be assuming that you're thinking they're facts. Clearly, it's not that I'm assuming they're facts (since I'm stating very explicitly that they're not).

So let's say that you don't believe they're facts. The problem with this is that statements like "to put him in a top 10 is negating your ability to focus on what playing a guitar actually is" make no sense if one doesn't believe that there are facts, at least to some extent, about what good and bad guitar playing is.Yeah, definitely not, especially since I'm trying to educate you in the context of the same errors I've seen people make hundreds of times.

Nostalgia and ignorance are two very easy ways to explain why someone would have someone like Page as one of your favourites.

But that's exactly the reason it is an opinion. Not everybody's top 10 guitarist list are the same, so it's up for grabs if someone wants to argue it.

In discussions in this vein, where we're talking about something philosophical, for example, I am, yes, and for good reason in my opinion.

Yeah, it's a fact that "Ki doesn't feel that Jimmy Page is one of the 10 best guitarists." No argument about that.

"Jimmy Page isn't one of the 10 best guitarists" isn't a fact though.If only that had the slightest effect on whether the statement I quoted makes sense in the context of not believing that there are facts about good and bad guitar playing . . . then we'd be getting somewhere. ;-)

So, once again, it's all on you for thinking that people are trying to establish facts when they state their opinions.
