You know, I don't really have anything particularly critical so say about any one of your lyrics right now, but I read the start of this yesterday, and then read this page today, and the amount your ability to write has grown is ridiculous. You've gone from slapping down the first thing that comes into your head, which made for an entertaining read, but not for groundbreaking artistry, to the last page, there's a depth to each lyric that definitely wasn't there are the start.

So yeah, basically, keep up the good work!

Agree with Moon 100%. I've never seen a thread turn around like this. It's been nice to see your growth as a songwriting before my very eyes.

I wouldn’t be up to judging your lyrics as I’m not a native of the language of Shakespeare, but I’m listening to your grooveshark. «Liquid tension experiment» and I really enjoy it. You use a lot of different atmospheres (from hard rock to jazz rock kind of music). It’s an appealing combination. The production is on an equally high level. Congratulations!

Thank you. I know exactly what you mean by that.
My entire way of thinking has changed since I started this in March, so this was simply the best time I could've chosen to start writing (of course, I didn't know this back in March). Any other span of 7 months throughout my life thus far hasn't brought this much change from beginning to end. I'll definitely continue to post my writings here. I feel like the next few months are going to bring more big changes and therefore changes in my lyrics.

Hahahahaha... Those songs on the grooveshark aren't by me, just stuff I enjoy listening to. I've only ever tried to record one song and it isn't even finished yet. Sorry that the link saying "My Grooveshark" misled you.

I used to play Xbox Live all the time and my game of choice was Halo 3. In Halo, there's a weapon called the Spartan Laser, so I decided to name my Xbox account SpartanLzrJesus. Over time, I started to use Slj for just about everything and eventually (for what reason I don't know) SljSlj. I also realized Slj is my initials in last, first, middle format.
That's the story of how Sljslj came to be, I wish it was more interesting.

I THOUGHT...

I thought when I found the meaning of life
I’d know the next step I’d have to take
But in this universe, there’s no escape
In the mirror, always redundancy
Fitting perfectly in that square-shaped hole

I thought when I lost my fear of death
I had nothing to be afraid of
But inside my head, there’s still pain
I’ll never find any sort of peace in there
‘Cause there isn’t a damn thing I fear more
Than life

There may not ever be an end
An eternity to descend
There may not even be a start
Of this, always a part

I thought when I found another way
The previous door would close shut
Shut up the demons on the other side
They’re still haunting, swarming all over me
There’s nothing more I can do with this now
This life

Everything loses itself now

There may not ever be an end
An eternity to pretend
There may not even be a start
A living, breathing piece of art
Of this, always a part

Everything loses itself now
I dig a hole into what once was
Buried in emptiness, over my head
Everything swallows itself whole
I dig a grave into the blue sky
Buried in empty space, over my head
For the final time, I’ve been misled

I thought when day transformed into night
I’d run away, never be seen again
But in this forest, the wolves have spotlights
They make me blind and watch my every move
Follow my tail, my trail glows so bright
Bright white

I thought when I found it was all in my head
It would just go away and leave me be
But there’s still so much ****ing pain
I can never find any sort of peace here
‘Cause there isn’t a damn thing I fear more
Than life

There may not ever be an end
An eternity to descend
There may not even be a start
Of this, always a part

There may not ever be an end
An eternity to defend
There may not even be a start
Of this, always a part

There may not ever be an end
An eternity to descend
There may not even be a start
Of this, always a part

LEAVE THE CAVERNS ALONE

Leave the caverns alone
They were never meant to
Be discovered by you

Leave the mind games at home
There’s no room for them here
What the hell do you want?
Anyway
What the hell do you want?

Let my brain melt alone
Your thoughts only burn it
You’re just too weak for this
Sorry, but
You’re far too weak for this

All I ask of you, sir
Leave the caverns alone
Let this place be my own
You’ve the rest of the world
To do with what you please

Please, please leave me alone
Leave the caverns alone
They were never meant to
Be discovered by you

I just want this one thing
One thing to call my own
Let this place be my home
My one and only home

I'm looking for an artist to make songs out of some of my lyrics. I've decided, given that I have a hard time singing and making music that fits the lyrics, I'm better off writing lyrics for someone else.
I've selected a few that I'd like to hear as an actual song, so if you're interested, PM me. I'll tell you the ones I've picked, but if you see one you'd like to do, don't hesitate to ask about it.
This is directed mostly at those who can't write lyrics, but can write music. This way, we would both benefit equally. I'd also like you to be a metal singer/screamer, but I'm definitely open to other styles.
Thank you in advance.
