lol two mins after I said that. There was an interception and I was like yeaaaah they are done.

it was still 20-13 at the time and they were close to another touchdown.

Yeah, I watched that pick. The Bears had a similar one.

I can't believe someone made one of these.

Well, maybe I can.

was gonna place a lot of bets this wknd. glad i didnt, every team i planned to bet on narrowly missed coverin the spread. i especially woulda flipped out over the steelers game cause i planned on bettin on detroit and they had a complete 2nd half meltdown

my falcons fightin for that first overall pick! actually gonna work out real well i think. atlanta, when healthy, is a super bowl team with a few additions. heres to hopin they can sucker some over achieving crap team without a qb into givin them a huge haul like the rams got the the RGIII pick a few yrs back!

All that matters is the Bronco Pat game next week.

So all the talk on Seattle sports radio today was that Walter Jones is a finalist for voting into the Hall Of Fame. Whataya think, is WJ a first ballot Hall Of Famer? I think so, he just went out and dominated the left side of the line, and was equally adept as a run or pass blocker. Seattle went to, and was possibly a series of bad calls away from winning (we'll never know) a Super Bowl, and while Shawn Alexander got most of the credit, the real reason that 2005 Seahawks team was so good was WJ and Steve Hutchenson blowing out the right side of the opposing defense. If WJ doesn't make it, it's only because left tackle is such an anonymous position.

Thoughts?

butthead aka 216 11-24-2013 06:18 PM

walter jones is a sure first ballot hall of famer in my mind, him and hutch on the left side of that line were dominant. one of the top maybe 3 left tackles of his era.

denver vs pats tonight

bets ive placed

1) denver -7.5.... risk $10 to win $22
2) denver +3.5.... risk $10 to win $4.50
3) demaryius thomas over 85.5 receiving yards.... risk $10 to win $8
4) any score by either team in first 7:30 of game... risk $30 to win $11

lets get it

3) -10

so i lost $4.50 overall. won $80 thanks to jimmy graham thursday. will likely bet niners game tmrw

He deserves it, but these are the same guys who took 6 years to elect Cris Carter.

Terrible offense that has directly impacted their scoring defense.

Truth

Thom Yorke 11-27-2013 10:00 AM

Jones should be a lock for the HOF. Definitely one of those iconic names at OT from that generation, along with guys like Pace, Ogden and Roaf.

Crabtree is back for the 49ers this weekend. He'll probably be eased back in, but once he gets going, watch out. I really believe his absence is the reason why Kaepernick has struggled so much this year.

Mojo 11-28-2013 06:21 PM

So it seems as though every time I've watched The Raiders this season they look ****hot early on and then fall to pieces.

I started Rashad Jennings this week though, so what do I care?

Exactly the list of linemen I was thinkin of. They were all beasts. I don't think crabtree will make a big difference. I just think teams predictably figured out the read option stuff and kaepernick isn't a good passer

Same lol. Had 2 bets on dallas. One covered one didn't cause of that late field goal. Love the mcgloin story tho

Paul Smeenus 12-04-2013 04:57 PM

Seattle sports talk has spent the entire day mocking this communication from the 49ers to their season ticket holders, correctly pointing out that no football fans should require instructions as to how to cheer for their team

http://media.bonnint.net/seattle/11/1130/113056.jpg

I don't mean this as a knock on the 49ers faithful. This is on the front office and whoever thought the fans wouldn't know this ferpissakes

*edited to add: WTF is the deal with the "First Down Cry"??

Thom Yorke 12-09-2013 10:21 AM

The NFC playoffs could be really interesting this year. If the Packers get Rodgers back and pass the slumping Lions, and the Eagles continue their streak, you could have all 6 teams being really dangerous come playoff time.

Paul Smeenus 12-09-2013 10:49 AM

^ I agree, all six would be capable of advancing. I think Pete Carroll needs to think in terms of winning out, otherwise they have no guarantee at all of keeping home field advantage, maybe the greatest home advantage in football or anything else.

butthead aka 216 12-09-2013 11:29 AM

Seattle will get home field.... pen in denver vs seattle for the superbowl now

Seattle had problems with Frisco this weekend and Denver can still be beat any given sunday. Not really sure but they're the consumate picks at the moment.

Thom Yorke 12-10-2013 03:25 PM

Yeah, I wouldn't trust the Broncos with the schedule they've had. AFC looks pretty weak though. No Gronk is a big concern for the Pats, the Colts and Bengals have been very inconsistent lately (or at least the Bengals offense has), and the Chiefs have benefited from an easy schedule as well. Honestly, the Ravens could make a run again at this rate, even though I don't particularly like their team either. I think I like the Bengals the most right now though.

Paul Smeenus 12-10-2013 03:30 PM

Well, looking at the schedule, Seattle plays @ NYG, then AZ and STL in the Clink. 2 out of those last 3 locks up the 1 seed, owing to the head-to-head win over NO. That will almost certainly happen.

I like the Bengals also. As Dalton goes so does the team. I'm not overly impressed with the afc west like you said and while Brady seems to be in the mix every year that defense is atrocious.

Paul Smeenus 12-10-2013 04:49 PM

It's been said oftem by many, but I feel compelled to say it again.

Yes, NYC is one of the greatest cities in the world, bu it'st a TERRIBLE place for a Super Bowl. WTF were they thinking.

What? Did you see how fun that Philly/Detroit game was? If it snows that game is going to be a blast! Isn't that the point? Fun?

butthead aka 216 12-10-2013 06:28 PM

kaep has been one of the worst passers this yr. that offense has been bad almost all season cause ppl figured out the read option gimmick stuff for the most part in the off season

gonna be a dumb superbowl. did you guys see??? they said NO TAILGATING!!! they said no grilling, no bringin chairs for the parking lot, must be within an arms length of your car at all times, etc... totally ridiculous!!

and yah seattle had a tough time with san fran ON THE ROAD. and even at that it was a super close game with a division rival. seattle basically has home field clinched, theres no way anyone in their right mind likes the chances of anyone playin at seattle. and denver is the clear favorite with gronk goin down. they are head and shoulders above whoever ya wanna consider 2nd in the afc

Exo 12-10-2013 06:46 PM

Kaep has trouble getting to his second read because he's still learning. Pass protection was horrible in the first half of the year so they kept VD in to block a lot so if Anquan wasn't open his second read was...who? Kyle Williams? Marlon Moore? Jon Baldwin? Look a what Tom Brady did with nobody to throw too. Nothing.

He's visibly getting better.

butthead aka 216 12-10-2013 06:51 PM

maybe hes gettin better but i tired of san fran fans and analysts sayin he has no weapons. he has a top 5 tight end, boldin, great line and run game, theres like a few guys in the league who have much more than that right there

brady won a couple rings with no wrs... im not big on kaep, dont like him for some reason. he looks best when they are mixing in the qb sweep stuff and lettin him run out in space.

Exo 12-10-2013 06:54 PM

I just told you. The line has not been great this year in pass protection and some QBs need time to learn how to use their 2nd and 3rd option. VD doesn't get many targets cause he's asked to block a lot more and until Crabtree and Manningham got back the leading receiver not named Boldin or Davis was fullback Bruce Miller.

You can say all you want that Kaep sucked the first ten games but there was some pretty determining circumstances to cause that. You just flat out said he's a bad passer like we're talking about Geno Smith. Also, how many qb sweeps and designed scrambles have you seen? They're barely running those.
